The Link Maintenance Trainer Family (MTF) of products provides training and development to the maintenance team and technicians. With a variety of tools to work with, students are able to undertake physical hands-on learning supported by virtual courseware and instructions for constant, real-time growth on demand. Link’s high-fidelity maintenance solutions can be applied to all air vehicles. Robust, high-fidelity physical and virtual environments build the maintenance and technician teams’ competence in both individual and team air vehicle support. The Link MTF supports the entire range of progressive learning and development, including avionics, electrical interface, fuselage, engine control, flight control, hydraulic and armament systems. The MTFs are air vehicle specific, including Portable Ground Control Stations for UAVs and cargo doors for wide-body jets. LINK SIMULATION & TRAINING FULL SPECTRUM AIR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE TRAINERS INSTRUCTION TRAINING Link provides training modules designed for both instructor-led courses as well as techniques for students to continue learning any time of day. The combination of virtual and physical training provides value-based instruction in order to maximize long-term retention and minimize the total training time. The virtual component provides complete air vehicle immersion. Students are able to walk around the platform, as well as open component doors and replace faulty parts. MAINTENANCE TRAINING Link developed multiple physical maintenance training devices, specific to each air vehicle, to provide high-fidelity skills training across a spectrum of specialties. Each Maintenance Training Device (MTD) consists of an Air Vehicle Replica (AVR), a student station and an Instructor Operator Station (IOS). The AVR is a high-fidelity mockup that represents a portion of the air vehicle. Examples of different AVR trainers include: LANDING GEAR TRAINER The Landing Gear Trainer (LGT) includes a representation of a portion of the mid- fuselage to train hands-on tasks performed on the landing gear, the arresting gear, auxiliary power system and electrical/environmental control/ thermal systems. ARMAMENT TRAINER The Armament Trainer (AT) includes a representation of a portion of the mid-fuselage/wing to train hands-on tasks performed on the weapons bays, missile launchers, wing pylons and gun system, including selected fuel system and wing maintenance tasks. COCKPIT AND FORWARD FUSELAGE TRAINER L-3 Link Simulation & Training P.O Box 5328 The Cockpit and Forward Fuselage Trainer (CFFT) includes a representation of the forward fuselage surrounding the cockpit and canopy to train hands-on tasks performed on this portion of the air vehicle.
