We will begin the Innovation Summit with a tour of Geekdom, a unique co-working space that demonstrates some of the key ingredients for innovation: collaboration, “making,” problemThe Anacacho Ballroom at The St. Anthony Hotel, San Antonio, TX solving, and more. More than just a co-working space, Geekdom offers a peek into what working environments might look like for our students—not just in terms of collaborative physical spaces, but also collaborative business processes, where they will be required to problem-solve and collaborate, build and invent. After the tour, Geekdom COO David Garcia will discuss their vision for this workspace and talk with attendees about how K-12 might better prepare their students for this kind of work environment. 4:30 – 5:30 pm What’s Next Anacacho Ballroom In the opening panel, we’ll hear from innovative business leaders about what skills they would like to see being taught in K-12 schools to better prepare students for future careers.
