Off-Site Visit: Geekdom
Meet at Event Registration at 2:30 pm
for a 2:45 pm departure.
We will begin the Innovation Summit with a tour of Geekdom, a
unique co-working space that demonstrates some of the key
ingredients for innovation: collaboration, “making,” problemThe Anacacho Ballroom at The St. Anthony Hotel, San Antonio, TX
solving, and more. More than just a co-working space, Geekdom
offers a peek into what working environments might look like
for our students—not just in terms of collaborative physical spaces, but also collaborative business processes, where they will be required to
problem-solve and collaborate, build and invent. After the tour, Geekdom COO David Garcia will discuss their vision for this workspace and talk
with attendees about how K-12 might better prepare their students for this kind of work environment.
4:30 – 5:30 pm

together local business, higher ed, and K-12 leaders to create a career-themed high school, and a former K-12 CIO who will talk about how he
