Three months after the final hearing on the lawsuit against DAPA and Expanded DACA, the 5 th
Circuit Court of Appeals has failed to rule. This delay has prevented 5 million immigrants from
applying for temporary relief for a year now, since the Executive Action was first released.
What’s more, unless the 5th Circuit Court ruling is made soon, in the next two weeks, it will
prevent the Supreme Court from taking on this case and ruling before June 2017.
The court’s needless delay not only prevents the Supreme Court from making a final decision, it
also defers justice for immigrant communities. This week activists will be holding a Fast For
Keeping Families Together in front of the 5th Circuit Court in New Orleans. While they
demonstrate our community’s hunger for justice, we most show our support from everywhere
in the nation. Let’s call on the court to announce their ruling as soon as possible and stop
delaying justice!
