Scenario:
As an assistant to a manager of a local sports team, you are asked to prepare a presentation
to give to the manager and coach about how group dynamics can influence performance.
They know you have been studying psychology on your sport course and asks if you have
any tips in establishing good teamwork at the club across it’s 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams.
You said you would love to help but as there is a lot to think about you would get back to her
next week with some tangible information about group dynamics.
You decide to focus on performance and group dynamics – what a stroke of luck as you
have just covered that in your course!

performance in team sports, which you hope will set the scene (and should be relatively
easy to do!
You must consider aspects of group processes, cohesion and leadership.
These could be based on the observation of a game or match.
