Geomec Environmental Management AS is establishing an independent
control centre for planning, real time monitoring and the daily follow-up of
storage and IOR wells, to ensure safe permanent injection of cuttings,
water and CO2. The company has been operative since 2008, and the
centre will begin operations in 2010.

THE PROBLEM: LEAKAGES FROM INJECTION WELLS

International water-leakage survey: Only operators not looking for
leakages report having no leakages.

Economic losses: Reduced life-span for injection wells, higher cost and
lower gain for IOR wells; and loss of and possible compensation for loss
of CO2 quotas.
