Shaped and Called to Light

Leader: Lord, we look for light,
especially when we walk in deep
shadows.
Left: Your light exposes everything, the
good and the bad, that is in us and
around us.
Right: Forgive us for the bad, Jesus,
and help us live so that our lives are full
of your light.
Leader: As we light this fourth candle
of Lent, God open our eyes to see
things your way and our lives to radiate
your glory.

"You are the light of the world. A
city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp
and put it under a bowl. Instead
they put it on its stand, and it
gives light to everyone in the
house….
… In the same way, let your light
shine before men, that they may
see your good deeds and praise
your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)

human lives empowered by
love.”
“The church is called to be a

Benediction:
Once we were in darkness, but
with Jesus we live in the Light.
May God help us live in that light
and see the people around us as
God sees them. May God’s
goodness and loving mercy bring
light into our world through us
even after we blow out this fourth
Lent candle.
