Codes: 1292 to 1321, 1328 to 1352, 1354 to 1356 published in the Employment News dated 24th -30th April, 2010 and Advertisement for *New Vacancies.
UGC has promulgated UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of
Standards in Higher Education 2010 (hereinafter referred as UGC Regulations 2010) which have come in force w.e.f. 30-6-2010. In the said Regulations, qualifications and other eligibility conditions for the
teaching posts have been revised and post of Reader has been re-designated as Associate Professor. Consequently the designations, qualifications and other eligibility conditions for the aforesaid advertised
posts stand revised as per the said UGC Regulations 2010. Post wise revised qualifications and other eligibility conditions for the aforesaid post of Associate Professor and Professor and the revised format of
application have been given here under.
Accordingly the eligibility of a candidate for the posts of Associate Professor and Professor shall now be determined as per the revised qualifications. Hence those who have already applied against Advt. No.
03/2009-10 (Code No. 103) and fulfill the revised qualifications and other eligibility conditions for the appointment on the said posts of Associate Professor and Professor as prescribed in the said UGC
Regulations 2010 should note the following:
Applicants for the posts of Reader and Professor advertised in the abovementioned Advertisement must compulsorily update their application in the newly prescribed format. Their candidature for the post of
Associate Professor and/or Professor shall not be considered if they do not update their application in the prescribed format by the last date, i.e. 21.09.2010.
Those who could not apply against the above-mentioned posts may also send their application on prescribed format if they fulfill the qualifications and other eligibility conditions in terms of UGC Regulations 2010
as given on our website, by the last date. Format of application is attached herewith.
In addition to the above-mentioned advertised posts, there are some *new vacancies at the level of Associate Professor and Professor for which applications from eligible candidates are invited for
submission by the last date, i.e. 21.09.2010.

General Instructions to the Candidates
No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview. However, the SC/ST candidates will be paid second class railway/bus fare by shortest route by cheque.
Eligibility of a candidate and satisfaction of any other Short-listing criteria shall be considered as on the last date of the receipt for application.
Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) will be provided at the Master’s level in case of SC/ST candidates for the post of Assistant Professor /Lecturer.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders who have passed their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September 1991
Weightage will be provided to the candidates for the post of Assistant Teachers who provide written undertaking to agree to NCC training and participate in NSS activities.
The minimum requirement of 55% shall not be insisted upon for Principals, Professors, Associate Professor s, Librarians, Deputy Librarians, Directors of Physical Education for the existing incumbents who are
already in the university system. However, these marks should be insisted upon for those entering the system from outside and those at the entry point of Assistant Professor/ Lecturers, Assistant Registrars,
Assistant Librarians, Assistant Directors of Physical Education.
A relaxation of the minimum marks at the PG level from 55% to 50% for appointment as Assistant Professor / Lecturer may be provided to the candidates who have cleared the JRF examination conducted by
UGC/CSIR only, prior to 1989, when the minimum marks required to appear for JRF exam were 50%.
A relaxation of 5% (i.e. from 55% to 50%) of marks at master’s level and 5% relaxation at graduate level under the term of “Good Academic Record’ at par with SC/ST candidates to the physically and visually
handicapped candidates for appointment as Principal, Professor, Associate Professor /Associate Professor, Lecturer/Assistant Professor, Registrar, Dy. Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Librarian, Dy. Librarian,

Relaxation in Age Limit for Physically Handicapped: Upper age limit for persons with disabilities shall be relaxable (a) by ten years (15 years for SCs/STs and 13 years for OBCs) in case of direct recruitment to
Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ posts: (b) by 5 years (10 years for SCs/STs and 8 years for OBCs) in case of direct recruitment to Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts where recruitment is made otherwise than through open
competitive examination; and (c) by 10 years (15 years for SCs/STs and 13 years for OBCs) in case of direct recruitment to Group A and Group B posts through open competitive examination.
Application fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
The University will not be responsible for postal delay in delivering the application forms to the candidates.

Certificate in support of experience should be in proper format i.e. it should be on the organization’s letter head, bear the date of issue, specific period of work, name and designation of the issuing authority

The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at any time at the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by
the candidates are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, then his services shall be terminated.
The University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised if the circumstances so warrant. Any consequential vacancies arising at the time of interview may also be filled up from the available
candidates. The number of positions is thus open to change.
In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter, the University reserves the right to modify/ withdraw/ cancel any
communication made to the candidates.
In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final.
Applicants who are in employment should route their applications through proper channel.
