• Created by legislation in December 2000
• Funds (some matching) provided to implement
national preservation strategy
• Aim is to implement national strategy for
preserving significant “born-digital” content

• Senior LC staff oversee each project
• Partners collect/preserve content, collaborate
with LC and each other

• Subject is developing web archiving tools for

• Focus is on political activities, including 2003
