GOLDEN WEST
SIGNIFICANCE:





Product was removed by CG
a year prior – preventing
significant discharge
Ownership is disputed
Lack of “significant and
substantial threat of
discharge” precludes further
action by FOSC other than
monitoring.
CG unable to remove due to
statutory constraints
Working closely with State to
allow them to find creative
solution for removal





Due to concerns over the
residual product released
by the HELENA STAR,
CG and Ecology
conducted a Pollution
assessment
Assessment revealed an
estimated 10,000 gallons
of product.
RP/owner contracted
GDS to remove
10,500 gals of recyclable
oil was recovered.
Another 1,000 gals of oily
water removed
