exception
• Must have amateurism completed
• NCAA Eligibility Center Qualifier or 4yr that got eligible can use
exceptions

• REGISTRAR DETERMINES GPA FOR ELIGIBILITY
• GOOD STANDING IS BASED ON QUALITY POINTS – Minus 12 quality
points from a 2.00 Grade point average makes you ineligible for
athletics
• WVSU SPORTS STUDIES MAJORS GET 14 HR OF POSSIBLE TRANSFERABLE PE
CREDITS
• MATH/SCIENCE/ENGLISH ARE DETERMINED BY THE DEPARTMENT
• NEED OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT FROM EVERY INSTITUTION

Institutional Procedures
• Every December the
compliance office reviews
transcripts of every student
athlete and determines who
is eligible for the next term.
• Transfer Releases/Tracers are
sent to all schools attended
• All students are added to the
NCAA Eligibility Center
• Coaches have access to
necessary NCAA sites to
make your job easier
• Every May, the Head Coach,
Compliance, and Registrar
check the eligibility of the
returning student athletes
and determine who needs
summer school
• The coach contacts the
student athlete
