Barlow Hall Primary School

Thank you to those parents who have been meeting Mrs Jackson and Mr
Murray recently with regard to the extra non-academic support that school
offers to some of our children. We hope you have found these meetings
helpful and that they have reassured you of the holistic approach that we
take towards the children here at Barlow Hall. This week staff undertook
some food awareness training so look out for some good ideas and tips
coming soon to help with reducing sugar intake

5AV Class Assembly Date
Change
Due to the Glaramara Residential
trip taking place the week
commencing 13/2/17 and the high
number of children form Year 5 that
are attending it, we have changed
the date of Mr Vaughan’s 5AV Class
Assembly to Thursday 9th February
so that all of the children can take
part.

SPOTLIGHT
Reception Class
The children are enjoying our new ‘Stickman’ topic which began last week with
our Christmas tree recycling where the children were amazed to see the change
from tree to stickman and this week we were delighted to welcome two new
class pets to Reception Class. They are two stick insects called Ping and Ming.
The children have been bringing in privet leaves which they love to for them to
eat. Can you spot Ping in this picture?
Please can we remind parents that
we do ask all children to come to
school in full school uniform every
day. This consists of white polo shirt,
black or grey trousers, skirt or
pinafore and a navy blue
sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece with
the school logo on. Black or white
socks may be worn with black
shoes.
KS2 Dance Club
The children have been practicing very hard
for our forthcoming dance competitions and
final rehearsals are now underway for our
‘Major Lazer/Sia’ mashup dance
performance. The children (and Miss.
Hobson) are very excited. We will be competing at Heald Place Primary
School on Monday the 13th of February, more details to follow.
Pet Club
Mrs Lavelle’s new pet club proved very popular
and the children learnt lots of fabulous new
ways to look after their pets at home. You can
discover how to look after your pet too, just visit
the PDSA website https://www.pdsa.org.uk

Please could we remind those parents
who drive to school to be considerate
of our neighbours on Darley Avenue
and not to park in fornt of the
residents gates. Some of our
neighbours work nights and come
home to find themselves blocked out
of their own drives whilst others can
not get out of their garden.
