PROJECT/SPECIALITY/RESEARCH INTEREST/THESIS DETAILS
Degree
PhD
MSc (Hons.)
Project/Thesis Topic/Specialty
Topic: Dry anaerobic digestion of municipal solid waste and digestate
management strategies
Speciality:
- Bio-energy (biogas) production through dry anaerobic digestion – a
source of renewable energy,
- Biogas production and waste treatment (Energy and environment),
- Climate change mitigation through biogas production,
- Design and operation of a pilot-scale reactor system for biogas production
Topic: Comparative effect of encapsulated and coated calcium
carbide on growth and yield of rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Speciality:
- Reduction of nitrogenous pollution to water and air environments by use
of calcium carbide which produces acetylene (a nitrification inhibitor) upon
its reaction with water
- Increase in rice yield by a plant hormone ethylene produced by microbial
reduction of acetylene
