D. charging If you’re using your WiFi Modem for the first time, you’ll need to charge it. Just connect the supplied USB cable to your WiFi Modem and then to your computer. Note: it can take up to 12 hours to fully charge your battery, but you can still use the modem while it’s charging. Ensure it’s facing the right way Before you replace the cover, write down the Wireless Network Connection name (SSID) and Security Key (WiFi Key) on the inside back cover STEP 3 POWER ON To turn your WiFi Modem on, just press and hold the Power button until the display lights up. STEP 4 START ’ER up Your WiFi Modem will now connect to the Optus network. You are now ready to connect other devices to the modem via WiFi. Are you a Prepaid customer? You’ll also need to activate your SIM. Just follow the instructions in your guide to getting started. SETTINGS To access the settings menu of the WiFi Modem: • Open a web browser STEP 5 Get CONNECTED To connect a device to the modem via WiFi you will need to provide: • Wireless Network Connection name (SSID) and • Security Key (WiFi Key). • In the address field, type http://192.168.1.1 and press Enter • Enter the username and password and then click Login (the default username and password is admin) Note: when the light is blinking, the modem is registering on the Optus network. 19/08/13 3:06 PM
