Textual Reasoning: Ability to work with typical written
communication in UN / POLNET context.
Analytical Reasoning: Ability to work with information
in various formats to solve problems using logic and
other forms of analytical reasoning.
Situational Reasoning: Ability to work with others in
the UN work environment.
All eligible, non-rostered
candidates that apply to positions
at the P1-P5 level in the job
network that have not been
placed on the SPT exemption
roster.
A written response item intended to assess a
candidate’s ability to write a professional
communication. Applicants will be provided input
with all information required to answer the question
and be tasked to produce a briefing document of
approximately 400 words in 45 minutes.
At this time, all eligible, nonrostered candidates that apply to
positions at the P1-P5 level in the
job network are required to
complete the Drafting Skills Test,
regardless of exemption status
from the SPT.
Substantive Knowledge/Skills: Measures of job
knowledge and skill(s) relevant to the specific
position.
Applicants who have passed the
SPT (in a current or previous
exercise) and/or suitability
screening – hiring unit’s discretion
to run a substantive test.
UN Competencies: Evaluation of an applicant’s past
experiences to gauge their aptitude for apposition
and the UN more generally.
Substantive Interview: A further measurement of job
relevant knowledge and skills
Suitable applicants that have met
or exceeded the highest passing
test scores and been invited to
interview.
