Scholarship Program

Lake Travis Baseball Booster Club Scholarship Guidelines
Over the years, the Lake Travis Baseball Booster Club has provided a scholarship program to
recognize outstanding baseball players at Lake Travis High School who are pursuing further education.
It is a way of giving back to the student athletes who have dedicated so much of their time to making
the Lake Travis Baseball program such a success and providing their fans with hours of enjoyment
watching them play baseball. All seniors, players, managers or trainers, who have been in the Lake
Travis Baseball program for at least 2 full seasons, are eligible to apply.
The scholarship(s) are awarded based on the senior submitting the application by the deadline and
meeting all the criteria outlined in the application which includes the characteristics of success,
perseverance, dedication, sportsmanship, leadership and academic achievement, along with 2
recommendations. These guidelines have been approved by the Head Baseball Coach.
The Lake Travis Baseball Booster Club Scholarship committee is comprised of Booster Club members
who are not currently serving on the LT Baseball Booster Club Board and whose students are not
currently a potential applicant of the scholarship program. This committee will review the submissions
and determine their selections based on the published criteria.
The maximum amount any senior can receive is $1,000 and the committee is not obligated to distribute
all the funds that have been allocated for any given school year. Based on the criteria outlined in the
scholarship program there are no intentions of distributing the money equally to all seniors, without
application. The budget for scholarships will be reviewed each year by the Booster Club board to
ensure that it is adequate. The volunteer committee will review the Scholarship Program each school
year and make any necessary modifications. Any changes to the program must go through the
approval process again.
The treasurer of the LT Baseball Booster Club Board serves on the committee in an advisory capacity
mainly for the purpose of giving guidance on processes and procedures, along with financial budgetary
commitments of the Booster Club. The treasurer does not participate in the review process of the
applicants. No members of the baseball management team will serve on the committee.
All information submitted is strictly confidential and will only be reviewed by the committee. Selections
will be announced at the End of Season Baseball Banquet and all documents submitted will then be
returned to the Lake Travis High School counselor’s office to be filed in the student’s permanent school
record. Application details will not be available to the Lake Travis Baseball Booster Club board or the
coaching staff. Any issues that arise during the selection process will be handled with the Counseling
Office, the Lake Travis High School principal or the Lake Travis High School Athletic Director.
