How to select your courses in Hohenheim The easiest way to select your courses in Hohenheim is to use the module catalogue. It contains all the modules you can choose and includes a short description of every module with information about the relevant tutorials, lectures and seminars. You can find the module catalogue on our homepage: https://www.uni-hohenheim.de/module-catalogue. Step 1: Select your faculty: On the first page of the module catalogue you should choose the faculty to which your study programme belongs (figure 1). Figure 1. Step 2: Select your modules: Step 2.1: Select courses of the current semester: In Hohenheim the academic year consists of two semesters: winter semester (October to March) summer semester (April to September) Many modules are only offered in the winter semester or the summer semester. So make sure that you do not select modules which are not offered in the semester of your stay. In the module catalogue lectures of the winter semester are labelled with odd figures “1, 3 or 5”, lectures of the summer semester with even numbers “2 and 4” (figure 2). Figure 2. Step 2.2: Choose Bachelor and Master modules In the drop-down menu you can select whether you want to choose modules of our Bachelor or our Master programmes. Figure 3. Step 2.3: Choose the language of instruction You can also select the modules according to the language of instruction (figure 4). Figure 4. Step 2.4: Select only complete modules For more information about a module, click on the next to the code of the module. Modules can consist of two or more parts. (For example a lecture and a tutorial or two lectures). If a module consists of several parts, you should attain all parts of this module. Otherwise you might not be able to do the exam. Complete modules have a code ending with “0”, sub-parts have a code ending with “1” to “9” (figure 5). Make sure that you only select complete modules. Figure 5. Step 2.5: Get more information about the module of your choice By clicking on the title of a module or a lecture (figure 6) you will receive more information about the workload and the contents (figure 7). Figure 6. Figure 7. Step 3: Set up your schedule: By using the links to the old timetables/course catalogue you can set up a preliminary schedule. The updated course catalogues are published shortly before the start of the semester: In mid-September for the winter semester and in mid-March for the summer semester.
