Table Tennis Union (ETTU), shall organise the LIEBHERR 2017 ITTF European Table Tennis
Championships.

The venue will be open for training from Monday 11th September 2017 at 1000 local
time (CEST) (training hall) and from Tuesday 12th September 2017 at 1000 local time
(CEST) (competition tables).
7.
Eligibility
The championships shall be open for entry to all member Associations whose subscriptions
are not in arrears.
All players shall be eligible to represent their Associations in accordance with the
provisions of article B.10.
8.
Rules and Regulations
The tournament shall be played in accordance with the Laws of Table Tennis, the ITTF
Regulations for International Competitions and the ETTU Regulations part CT.
9.
Events and Title holders
The championships shall include 2 events: men's team and women's team.

Entries
Each Association shall be entitled to enter up to 5 players in a men's team and up to 5
players in a women's team.
Associations have to enter all their participants at the championships through the online
entry system determined by the ETTU. The online entry system will include a statement,
to be agreed by an official of the nominating Association on behalf of its players and
captains, that they understand and accept the conditions of the championships, that they
are prepared to compete against all other teams participating and that they are insured
fully against illness and injury for the duration of the championships.
11.
Substitutions
Associations are allowed to modify their online entries (no additional entries are allowed)
up to Wednesday 6th September 2017. In case of late non-availability of any player after
the relating deadline the Secretary General may allow up to the first jury meeting
Associations to replace a non-available player by another player. For such replacement
the Association shall pay to the ETTU an administration fee of 100 € per replacement.

12.
Playing system
The championships shall be played in accordance with ETTU Regulations part CT 11 for
the Championships Division, Challenge Division and Standard Division.
Match Procedure:
A men's or women's team shall consist of maximum 4 players.
Each team shall appoint a playing or non-playing captain or a responsible deputy, who
shall be present throughout a match.
A match shall consist of up to 5 singles and shall be played on 1 table.
One team is considered to be composed of the players A1, A2, A3, and the other team
is considered to be composed of the players B1, B2, B3.
The order of play in a team match shall be A1 v B2, A2 v B1, A3 v B3, A1 v B1, A2 v B2,
and the match shall end when a team has won 3 singles, each the best of 5 games.
Before the match the captains shall decide by lot the right to choose A1-A2-A3 or B1B2- B3 and shall nominate their players to the referee or his representative, assigning a
letter to each player. After the second singles in a team match, player N°4 of the team
may replace player A1 or A2 (for the home team) respectively player B1 or B2 (for the
away team). Such a player substitution must be announced by the respective team
captain to the Referee at the latest before the start of the third singles match.

Default
The ITTF Ranking Default Policy applies for the entire event.
14.
Draw and Jury meeting
The draw will be conducted on Wednesday 12th July 2017, commencing at 1730 local time
(CEST), in the Amphitheatre of the event venue d'Coque.
The jury meeting will be held on Tuesday 12th September 2017, commencing at 1900 local
time (CEST), in the Amphitheatre of the event venue d'Coque.
15.
Entry fees
There shall be an entry fee, payable to ETTU, of 1.800 € on a team in the Championships
Division, 1.200 € on a team in the Challenge Division and 600 € on a team in the Standard
Division.

Hospitality
• 280 € per person per night in single occupancy
• 220 € per person per night in double occupancy
with breakfast in the hotel, lunch and dinner in the venue, and airport/hotel transfer
being included.
Information for room bookings regarding number of persons, single/double rooms shall
be provided by Monday 31st July 2017.
The organising Association shall cover 100% of the cost of hospitality from the evening
before the championships begin until the morning after they end for up to 3 persons (1
male player, 1 female player and a non-playing coach) of an Association that has
entered.
The organising Association shall provide free hospitality from the evening before the

ETTU Congress until the morning after the ETTU Congress for 1 delegate, from each
Association, attending the ETTU Congress during the championships. A delegate,
nominated by an Association to attend the ETTU Congress and receiving free hospitality,
not attending the ETTU Congress shall be required to reimburse the organising
Association.
An Association cancelling a person of their announced delegation after the deadline of the
final entries up to 10 days before the championships starts has to pay a cancellation fee
of 100 € per person to the organising Association.
An Association cancelling a person of their announced delegation during the last 10 days
before the championships or arriving with less persons than announced, has to pay 100%
of the hospitality costs for every person and for the whole period this person was initially
nominated.

All participants shall submit their arrival/departure details by Friday 18th August 2017.

Visa
Associations requiring an individual invitation letter for their delegation members to obtain
the necessary visa shall inform FLTT ([email protected]) as soon as possible and provide full name,
nationality, passport number and expiry date, date and place of birth.
30.
Information for players
By entering the event, players agree to abide by all ITTF and ETTU rules and regulations.
All entered Associations and individual players agree to be under the auspices of the ETTU
and its agents in all matters concerning television coverage, video, internet web casting,
motion picture coverage, and photographic coverage of any kind. Participants release all
rights, or rights held by their agents or sponsors, in all matters relating to television and
web casting coverage, video and motion picture coverage, and photographic coverage of
any kind. A participant’s refusal of above listed coverage may be subject to suspension or
dismissal from the competition.

31.
Information for participants
In the context of betting participants shall not, by any manner whatsoever, infringe the
principle of fair play, show unsporting conduct, or attempt to influence the course or result
of a competition, or any part thereof, in a manner contrary to sporting ethics. Any violation
of this principle shall be disciplined according to provisions of ITTF regulation 3.5.3.
32.
Insurance
By entering the event, each Association must ensure that all delegation members have
medical, travel and other appropriate insurance.
33.
ETTU Congress
The ETTU Ordinary Congress will take place on Thursday 14th September 2017 at the
Alvisse Parc Hotel in Luxembourg-Dommeldange.
