Error Message: “Remove Paper Standard Bin” The likely cause of this error is that somehow the exit flag has got stuck or is out of place. To resolve this issue: 1. Stand in front of the printer and look towards the back of the printer where the paper comes out. Looking from the front, you should see a little curved arm hanging down towards the left side that resembles a hockey stick. This is the exit flag. (See picture below) 2. Lift up on the flag and let it go to see if it falls back down all the way. If it does not, the flag may be stuck. 3. It is possible that the bin level flag has come out of its holder. To check that, you will need to remove the small top cover at the rear of the printer. 4. Look at the cover that is just above the last set of feed rollers that the paper uses before it exits the printer. 5. Take off this cover by lifting up on its right side and then sliding it to the right. Note: If you have an output feeder option (like the 5-bin mailbox or a finisher option), or some fax/scanner/copier stands installed to the top of the printer, you will need to remove those pieces to find the flag. 6. Look at the bin level flag and where it is supposed to snap in place in its two little holders. If it looks like the flag has popped loose, you will need to push it down and snap it back into place. 7. Once you have done this, try lifting the flag. Make sure it moves freely and falls back down easily. 8. When the bin flag is down, put the redrive cover back on the printer and turn on the power. 9. If these steps do not make the message go away, there may be a problem with the output bin sensor, the output bin flag, the cable, or the engine board. The printer will need service to repair the problem.
