PURPOSE OF ROLE: As part of their £112 million investment across the country, the Fulfilling Lives project has been commissioned by the Big Lottery. This innovative scheme is being led by Shelter in the City of Manchester. Inspiring Change Manchester will make a real difference in the lives of those citizens in Manchester who have the most challenging and complex needs. Your role will be to work as a GROW Trainee within the Engagement Team of Inspiring Change Manchester. This exciting, unique and novel role will require you to engage assertively with the most complex individuals in the City of Manchester. These individuals will have multiple needs, including homelessness, substance misuse, offending and mental ill health. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team and will be able to effect real change in the lives of these individuals, assisting them in their recovery journey. Your work will be led and designed in collaboration with the service-users you work with. Using a psychologically informed approach, you will be the type of person who can work in a persistent, assertive manner and make a real difference in the lives of others, empowering them to fulfil their own goals. This is a ten month fixed term contract. 2. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES To develop the skills to assist in the provision of ICM keyworker service for Manchester residents with multiple complex needs. To work in partnership with a designated Life Coach. To ensure at all times a professional and supportive approach is maintained. To develop the skills to assist in the day to day delivery of the service. Assist Service-users in achieving their personalised support outcomes. Act as an initial point of reference on the phone, or in a reception area as required. Assist in the provision of a comprehensive housing management and support service, including working with tenancy agreements and collecting rents and charges. Carry out day-to-day office administrative functions to ensure that all records and files are maintained and held securely and that the confidentiality of information is upheld. Have an awareness of the Service-users support needs, working, under direction, supporting Service-users to help them achieve their agreed outcomes. Contribute to the formulation and delivery of person-centred Change Plans. Using IT systems appropriately including adding updates to the Support Database. Advising management promptly of any signs of problems or concerns about a Service-user. Recognising signs of distress in Service-users and identifying ways to reduce this. To correspond and liaise as necessary with external agencies on behalf of Service-users. Work in line with, monitor and report any discrepancies in health and safety standards within schemes. Ensure culture and diversity issues for the Service-users are considered at all times, and report any forms of discrimination. Promote and encourage a high level of Service-user involvement, consultation and communication. To participate in a shift rota system that includes weekend working. 3.
