ASSIGNMENT DUE DATES AND FORMAT
A hardcopy of all assignments must be submitted on the due date as outlined in the syllabus.
If a student has an excused absence, he/she may turn in assignments one day late, with
special permission from the instructor. Otherwise, NO LATE WORK will be accepted.
*ATTENDANCE*
If absence is unavoidable, the student should notify the instructor that same day (by email
and/or telephone) and an excused absence may be recorded. No more than two excused
absences may be allowable during the semester. All subsequent absences will be considered
“unexcused” absences. For each excused absence after the first two, and/or for each
unexcused absence, the student’s grade may be lowered by ten percent (10%). After three
unexcused absences, a student may be automatically dropped from the class roll. A student
that arrives late for class may be considered tardy. If he/she does not arrive before 6:15 pm,
he/she may receive a tardy and four tardies may be considered an unexcused absence.
PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism occurs when a student misrepresents the work of another as his or her own.
Plagiarism may consist of using the ideas, sentences, paragraphs, or the whole text of another
without appropriate acknowledgement, but it also includes employing or allowing another

person to write or substantially alter work that a student then submits as his or her own. Any
assignment, challenge, or project found to be plagiarized will be given an “F” grade (and may
be given an F in the class). All instances of plagiarism will be reported to the Dean of the
Division, and further action may be taken by the College.
