Tuesday Night 2 Person League Team Event

DURATION: May 5 – August 25 (14 weeks) Shot gun start at 5:30 EACH WEEK
TEAM COMPOSITION: Two person team (May have 3 or 4 members and rotate).
DIVISIONS: Will be determined by the number of teams that sign up. Last year (2014) we had two
divisions of twelve teams each.
FORMAT OF PLAY: Individual Match Play/Individual Medal Play/Team Medal Play
Match Play: During league night only 2 players (whom you designate) will be part of the
match. Each 2 person team will compete against another 2 person team in an individual
nine hole net score match play.
Medal Play: In addition, each Match will also have a Medal Play quotient, using full
handicaps. Match play rules have priority when there is conflict; a player may concede
an opponent’s putt and a player may give or receive advice from their teammate.
Team Medal Play: The sum of the two person team’s net medal scores compared with
the opposing team’s scores.
Example: Team Zack vs Team Doug - Zack’s A player (lowest handicap) vs Doug’s A player,
Zack’s B player vs Doug’s B player. You are playing individual matches for your team, both
match play and medal play. Sum of net medal scores compared at end of match. All
matches will be played from the White tee markers.
SCORING FOR MATCHES: 2 points for winning your 9 hole match (hole by hole); 2 points for
your 9 hole medal play match; 2 points for combined team net score. 1 point for each
match portion if there is a tie.
HANDICAPS: USGA Handicap or a previous Men’s League Handicap. If you have a Men’s League
Handicap that will be the primary handicap used. Each individual match will be dotted on the
scorecard by the low individual of the match. Ex: Zack is a 3 handicap for 9 holes and is playing
Doug who is a 6 handicap for 9 holes. Zack would give Doug 3 strokes on the 3 toughest holes on
that nine. If you do not have a handicap, the first week MUST be played as a ZERO handicap;
your future handicap will be based on your Tuesday scores.
*If you have a Men’s League handicap it will be used for the Tuesday night league. If you
do not have a Men’s League handicap your GHIN handicap will be used. Once the league
begins your Tuesday night league handicap will take precedent over your GHIN handicap.
Tuesday scores count for Thursday handicaps (and vice versa) if people play in both
leagues, but the Tuesday handicap is calculated differently than the Thursday handicap.
Players should ALWAYS check their Tuesday handicaps before filling out and turning in
their Tuesday scorecards.
SUBS: Can sign up at the banquet or at the Jester Park pro shop. There will be a list of subs phone
numbers at the pro shop for Tuesday Night teams to call. They must have established handicaps
on GHIN or Men’s League. If they do not have established handicaps they will play to a “zero”.
BLIND SCORE: Any match played against an absent opponent will have to compete against a
“blind” score, The “blind” score will be a score of 40 with 4 bogies on the top four handicap holes
and 5 pars on the other five holes and a handicap of zero. This “blind score” rule is being used to
balance the inequity for the rest of the division when an absent player cannot be avoided.
COST: $120 per two person team
PAY-OUT: 70% of the registration fee will be returned at the end of the season based on the
total points the team earns during the season. The other 30% will be paid out via weekly flag
events and accomplishments.
Match play and Team Quota pay-out will be based upon the points your team accumulates
over the regular season. The amount of places will be determined by the number of teams
that sign up. Weekly flag prizes will also be rewarded.
