The Launch of WINN
The WINN (European Platform Driving KnoWledge to INNovations in
Freight Logistics) project was launched on October 1, 2012. This 30
months project is co-funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the
European Commission. The representatives from the European
Commission and the project partners attended the kick-off meeting on
October 15-16 in Zaragoza, Spain.
The goal of the WINN project is to create a European Technology
Platform (ETP) on Logistics. The ETP will play a key role in the
definition of the Logistics Innovation Agenda that will be implemented
through the European Commission programs in the 2014-2020 period,
among them Horizon 2020 program. Horizon 2020 is currently being
defined and will be granted with EUR 80 billion.
WINN aims at shaping an innovation agenda in logistics and supply
chain that, supported by the European Commission, will contribute to
improve business competitiveness and sustainability.
