Halver, 12 April 2016 – On Friday 8 April, a topping out ceremony was celebrated on the
construction site of ESCHA Bauelemente GmbH. In the presence of 150 guests, the obligatory
topping-out wreath was placed on top of the new production- and shipping building in
Westphalian Halver. On the approximately 22,000 square meters property in Maerkische Street,
10,000 square meters floor space for shipping, warehouse, and production is currently under
construction. In addition, the building activities for an attached office building have already
started. The overall cost amounts to about Euro 14 million.
The construction works for the new building complex started in July 2015. After about ten
months, the structural work is practically completed so that both ESCHA Managing Directors
Dipl.-Ing. Dietrich Turck and Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. Marco Heck together with representatives of all
contractors as well as some ESCHA staff were able to celebrate the topping out ceremony. A lot
has been done on the construction site in the last nine months. So far, a total of 43,000 cubic
meters of earth have been moved, removed, or restored at the construction site. That
corresponds to about 3,300 trucks with a volume of thirteen cubic meters respectively.
Approximately 2,800 cubic meters of concrete had been used by the beginning of the topping
out ceremony, which correspond to about 373 truck mixers. Besides, more than 650 precast
parts weighing one to 24 tons were put in position.
“We are going to combine our previously separated two production sites at one location which
means shorter transport- and coordination procedures. In addition, our shipping center will
move to the new building resulting in optimization of the flow of goods in the building from
incoming goods up to dispatching”, says builder-owner Dietrich Turck and adds: “The
administration with all office work places will continue to operate from our headquarters in
Elberfelder Street in Halver.”
