“And
I tell you that you are Peter, and on this
rock I will build my church, and the
gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will
give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven;
whatever you bind on earth will be bound in
heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will
be loosed in heaven.” (Mat. 16:18-19)
GOD IS IN THE CONSTRUCTION’S BUSINESS
GOD IS ENGAGED IN THE MOST IMPORTANT
MISSION ON THE EARTH: THE CHURCH
IT IS THE MOST CRUCIAL PROJECT HE IS
IMPLEMENTING ON THE EARTH ON THIS
SEASON
HE IS WORKING ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
BUILDING: A SPIRITUAL BUILDING
GOD IS WORKING ON A SPIRITUAL BUILDING
BUILDING MATERIALS
Jesus told Peter that there are two main building
materials to build His church:
1st: THE ROCK- he church is been built on Christ,
who is the ROCK and the foundation of the
church.
2nd: THE LITTLE STONES- the disciples of Christ, like
Peter.
CHRIST IS THE LIVING STONE

living stones, are being built up as a spiritual

spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through
Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:4-5)
1. COME TO HIM
GOD IS CALLING ALL OF HIS CHILDREN TO
COME TO HIM AND TO JOIN HIM ON THIS
PROJECT
HE IS DRAWING ALL THE PEOPLES OF THE
EARTH TO COME TO HIM TO WORK ON THE
BUILDING HE IS CONSTRUCTING
HE IS INVITING ALL OF HIS CHILDREN TO BE
PART OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PROJECT HE
IS IMPLEMENTING ON THE EARTH
2. COME TO THE LIVING STONE
Who is the living stone?
God is the LIVING STONE
 The Living stone has been rejected by men
 He is the choice of God
 He is precious in the sight of God
Who has been rejected by men?
• 9There was the true Light which, coming into the
world, enlightens every man.
• 10He was in the world, and the world was made
through Him, and the world did not know Him.
• 11He came to His own, and those who were His
own did not receive Him.
• 12But as many as received Him, to them He gave
the right to become children of God, even to
those who believe in His name,
• 13who were born, not of blood nor of the will of
the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

14And
the Word became flesh, and dwelt among
us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only
begotten from the Father, full of grace and
truth. 15John testified about Him and cried out,
saying, "This was He of whom I said, He who
comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He
existed before me.'"
• 16For of His fullness we have all received, and
grace upon grace. 17For the Law was given
through Moses; grace and truth were realized
through Jesus Christ.
• 18No one has seen God at any time; the only
begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father,
He has explained Him.
WE ARE LIVING STONES

STONES WHO LIVE
• We are also LIVING STONES because in Christ
we were born again spiritually and we have
eternal life.
• In this figure of speech, JESUS is the ROCK that
is a living stone, and we are also living stones.
• This is a picture to show that He is building it
up and each new person who comes to Christ
becomes a part of this spiritual building.
THIS SPIRITUAL BUILDING HAS A PURPOSE

OUR SPIRITUAL SERVICES ARE
ACCEPTED BY GOD
• This is a very important purpose of the church:
to offer spiritual sacrifices of praise, worship
services to God through Jesus Christ.
• When we get together in the Name of Jesus
Christ God will accept our worship and our
praises.
And about the physical building?
How important it is the physical building?
The Physical Structure
• The physical structure allows the living stones
to get together to worship God, to serve one
another, and to serve the community and
communities the Lord has sent us and will
send us to.
• A physical structure can be an instrument of
God to implement the plans to advance the
Kingdom of God inside the community.

• THE PHYSICAL BUILDING: the
sanctuary, the children’s
rooms, the prayer room, the
fellowship hall, the kitchen,
the food pantry, and all areas
should be dedicated to Christ,
as the Head of our church, so
He can use these facilities as
He wants.
• Everything that is in here
today will be dedicated to
Christ, so He can use these
facilities

Living Rock, Jesus
Christ, and commit
to follow Him in this

LIVES BUILT ON THE ROCK
“47: Whosoever come to me, and hear my
sayings, and does them, I will show you to
whom he is like:
48: He is like a man which built an house, and
digged deep, and laid the foundation on a
rock: and when the flood arose, the stream
beat vehemently upon that house, and could
not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock”
(Luke 6).
