The bamboo biomass comes from the protected
forest of the province of Mondulkiri. The
workers from local communities are trained to
sustainably harvest the bamboo from pristine
forest and to transform this clean biomass into
valuable products. It provides them a profitable
activity during the dry season after growing rice
during the raining season

Made into a stable form of carbon
from organic mater, biochar reduces
the amount of CO2 released into the
atmosphere by decomposition.
As 1 ton of biochar is the equivalent
of 3,6 tons of CO2, adding it in the
soil is a powerful tool to stop
greenhouse gas build-up in the
atmosphere.
Bamboo is a grass and grows faster than trees.
Growing up to 1 meter a day, bamboos reach
their full height (20 meters for some species) in a
single growing season (4 months). It is a NonTimber Forest Product (NTFP) and is more
productive when managed. We partner with
local communities and international NGOs to
sustainably manage the bamboo resources.
