Role: MTT Deputy Chief for Training (part-time) Location: TBD Team Rubicon Global (TRG) is a non-profit organization that provides veterans around the world with opportunities to serve others in the wake of disasters. We do this by launching new Team Rubicons and providing core services to the entire TR network. TRG is a support organization that focuses on building capacity in the frontline organizations, the TRx’s (TR Australia, TR Canada, TR UK, TR USA, etc.). Team Rubicon Global (TRG) is seeking a Mobile Training Team (MTT) Deputy Chief for Training that reports directly to the TRG MTT Chief. This position is responsible for developing and executing training and exercise activities for the TR network. This person is responsible for ensuring compliance with TR standards and producing training activity reports for the MTT Chief. Team Rubicon’s disaster management and incident response activities require a trained volunteer base, thorough incident planning, dynamic leadership during field operations, and an understanding of the unique culture that is Team Rubicon. The Deputy Chief for Training will actively participate in the adoption of standards and the servant leadership culture unique to TR. Only the most awesome candidates should apply. Period. Key Responsibilities: • Work directly with the MTT staff to support individual TRx training events • Work directly with TRx training leads to support and improve TRx training events • Assist in the development of new & innovative processes to be shared with the network • Develop disaster response and leadership training for TRx’s as directed by MTT Chief • Build and maintain “Training Hub” to share training resources across TR network • Connect with TRx training leads (or equivalent) biweekly and provide consolidated progress report to the MTT Chief • Support the training of TRx’s across all stages of the lifecycle (launch to certification) Minimal Experience and Background • Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management preferred, but not required • 4+ years of relevant experience in the military or emergency management community • ICS 300 and 400, or country equivalent emergency management/Incident Command certification • One year of experience in TR in a teaching & mentorship role (required) • Thorough understanding of TR’s unique leadership style & culture of servant leadership • Understanding of and/or first-hand experience with TR’s disaster response history, culture, and capabilities Desired Experience and Competencies • Experience and knowledge of Team Rubicon’s disaster response history and capabilities • • • • • • • • Demonstrated experience in teaching Emergency Management or equivalent Demonstrated ability to identify and foster collaborative relationships Demonstrated ability to be adaptive & sensitive to the various differences in country cultures and disaster relief operations Knowledge of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) requirements or country equivalent Proficient in Microsoft Office and the various data systems currently used by TRG Excellent training, mentoring and coaching skills Social / interpersonal skills that support team building High level of written and verbal communications skills Special Requirements • Ability to travel abroad, frequently with little/no notice, located near a major airport • Valid national passport (not expired) • Complete training courses as recommended and made available by the TRG network • Practitioner of technology – able to learn, use, teach, and drive adoption of the several systems used by TRG (Box, Palantir, Roll Call, Salamander, mobile communications) • Embrace and actively display TRG’s Operational Principles in the execution of duties • Must be culturally flexible in dealing with the different countries that he/she will be working with Learn more about Team Rubicon Global • www.TeamRubiconGlobal.org Please submit your resume and a cover letter demonstrating exceptional writing skills and how you are the ideal candidate for this position to; [email protected]
