agreed upon.
Article I
Taking
into
coneideration the similarity o f
climatic and
natural condition8 and close bilateral relations,
Aware of the importance o f the protection, management and
sustainable development of forests, to he able to meet the
social, economic, ecologicel, cultural anrl spiritual deeds o f
present and future generations,
Drawing attention to the fact that cooperation between the
Parties is important in term8 05 bilateral carrying out their
responsibilities concerning the protection and development of
regional and global forest resources of the Parties, and that
this will lead to mutual benefit,
I n the field of sustainable forest martagement, The
have agreed upon the following iasues:

cooperation in the field of forestry will be based on the
principles of equality and reciprocity and mutual interest.
2. The Parties will enaure the participation of the p r i v a t e

Article X X
The coets emerging within the host: country, from the
exchange of forestry expert delegatfons, wlll be met by t h e host
country. All travel c o s t s will be paid by the country sending
the delegations.
Article I I f
This memoltandum will enter into force on the date of
notification by tne TUrKiSH aaae zo tne -rurKmen slaa mar Tne
national procedures for the ratification of this memorandum have
been accomplished. The memorandum w i l l remain i n effect for a
period of f i v e years. It will be automatically renewed for
another five years unless one of the parties, s i x months before

mutual consent of the parties at any time.
