Introduction:
These days we have noticed that many girls spend most of their time in the
university more than they do at home. Mostly, they don’t have time to take
care of themselves due to the assignments and exams they have. Moreover,
most of them have long breaks 2-4 hours between their classes. So, our idea
is to open a beauty salon in the university. It will benefit those girls who don’t
have that much time when they come back from the university. We are going
to use the DAPEE model in our business proposal. It will cover the business
plan, defining the project, analyzing it and evaluating the result.
The DAPEE model:
Since we are facing problems everyday we are trying to choose the proper
way to reach the proper solution. In our business proposal we are using the
DAPEE model (define, analyze, plan, execute, evaluate) to show our idea. By
defining it then analyzing it, it will make it easier to plan for it, execute it and
evaluate it. Each member of the group is responsible for concluding different
step.
The project:
I’m going to describe our idea for the project. It’s as I mentioned earlier a
beauty salon but what makes it different is that it’s going to be in the university
campus. Girls need to spend time to take care of themselves at least once a
month. Yet, being a college student with all the work need to be done in time
and with all the study that should be done for the exams, it’s hard to find time
for such a thing. Offering this beauty salon will help the girls to take the stress
away and relax since we know how much does a beauty salon mean to a girl.
Since it’s business for the girls we might as well provide part time jobs for girls
who also have long breaks and have expertise in the same field. We guess
after opening it some girls might do well in their studies because they spent
some time for themselves and relaxed. The salon will include hair cutting,
Munkar and Bdkir, hair dying and massage as a start. We might expand the
services provided depending on the girls and how will they accept it. We
considered this kind of business because many other universities around the
world had already opened one and they say the success in this kind of
business such as Alsharjah University. In order to run this business we need
to “invest just as much as you do in treatment training into getting your
therapists to be able to communicate effectively with clients”. (Craig, 2012)
Analyzing the project
Beauty salons consider one of the competitive industries with different
business markets. Every business must have an object and a critical way to
keep up or to carry on their competitive steps. The SOWT analysis is the
perfect, professional way to build this systemization. It encourages all
business not to mention beauty salons. Classifying the areas in where their
doing good and what the areas that their weak in, that needs betterment and
acclimation. (Dore, 2012)

Strength
1. Location: as we mentioned that our location would be in Prince
Muhammad bin Fahad University. Female campus specifically.
This university is far away from the city 30 mins, which make the
girls demand us more.
2. Clients: our clients obviously would be only female. Girls always
love to spoil themselves and cares about their looks, especially
when their having long breaks between their lectures. They
need to relax in this period rather than doing some uni work.
3. Well trained staff: we will be offering the best well trained staff
who will defiantly know all kinds of hair styles and others.
4. Part time jobs: we will be also offering part time jobs for students
who would love to help in their free time. That would benefit
them learning some experience and benefit us to have more
customers.

Weaknesses
1. Small area: As starters we took a small place and we might
face some overcrowding.
2. Lack of staff: were gonna offer 5 workers and if someone got
sick or whatever we might face some problems.
3. Not to wide range of services: As beginners were gonna start
the basics things like blow dry, hair cutting, hair dye, manicare
and pedicare only.

Opportunities
1. Additional expansion introducing new various activities.
2. Other college's branches.
3. Opening a training center for hairstylist program that is attached
to the beauty salon.
4. Offer hair and skin cosmetics to sale.

Threats
1. Relocating of the female campus.
2. Instability economy of the country.
3. Sudden economic crises similar to 2006 in Saudi Arabia.
4. New restrictions, rules such as working hours, increasing the
price of work permits like they did now from 1000 to 2500 SR.
Planning the solution

Convenience: Serving without necessary taking appointment.
Additionally, serve the best work with the best equipments.

Customer Service: Serving customers with ethical attention and
behavioral attitudes.

Competitive Pricing: Offering affordable prices for students.
We did an online survey asking the students and faculties how many or how
much they need this salon to open specifically in their campus and the result
shows that 80% of them said yes we need this in our free time to have some
fun and relax and 20% preferred to go to beauty salons that they know and
used to go to them only.

Jamelah
•Salon assistant
•Enteral design
•Stylists technicians
Abrar
•Salon Manager
•Pruchesing equipment
•Set the price
Sara
•Salon owner
•Labor
What we have above is a diagram of the board of directors who will execute of
the plan. The labor will be in within 7 months. The project needs 5 months to
be opened. The area location is selected, it will be located in the Centre
building maintains a safe workplace environment.
When it’s ready, Abrar will be responsible of advertising reaching the target
market, this need to have meetings with advertiser’s agencies, and she will
set the price and choose the matching mood of advertising within the
advertising budget. The salon cost will be satisfying for the students. The
salon will have good service with high quality standards.
The beauty shop has a high full service with the customer's satisfaction, its
devoted to the students and facility with high level of quality, with a great joy
able atmosphere with a suitable price for students. And we will even sustain
wonderful, friendly, reasonable, and innovative the job surroundings, with all
respect ideas, tough work, and diversity. Our job is to bring the services and
products that will make our customers physical emergence, and mental
comfortable. To make our beauty shop more successful it to have unique
services, a relaxing atmosphere with a good location.
Evaluating the solution
We might face threats from students but we will have a special employee to
deal with any complainers. And we might face crowdedness because of the
small capacity of the beauty shop but we will try to expand the shop in the
next years. We might face a lost in the first few months for the free services
but when it's growing with customers then later we will gain profit.
Conclusion:
For girls it’s hard to be in the salon while having so much to study. Although,
they want to go but they don’t just have enough time. So, a salon in the
university can be the solution for them. We are planning to work with
professionals in this field in order to provide the girls with the needed services.
We used the DAPEE model to create unique solution for each problem. We
are guaranteeing our costumers the best service.
