Responsible for the procurement of key department products, both day to day and promotional items
at best possible price whilst maintaining manageable stock levels and minimizing out of stocks.
Qualifications, experience, skills and attributes required for this role:
 Buying qualification or equivalent
 Retail experience to management level
 Microsoft Office Proficient
 SAP experience will be beneficial, but not essential.
 Financial calculations and budget management
 Flexibility to work all days of the week
 Customer and results focused
 Planning, organizing l and time management skills
 Strong relationship builder, team player and problem solver.
 Strong communication (verbal and written), relationship management
 Maintaining standards and eye for detail
 Physically fit and healthy
 Experience in Chilled and Frozen area would be a distinct advantage.
The key task areas for this role are:








All stock sourced through approved suppliers, all orders placed on time and all products
checked on arrival for quality. Ensure appropriate stock control / stock taking processes and
procedures are in place. Liaise with suppliers as appropriate.
Ordering of products, collecting credit notes, loading deals
Communicating / dealing with sales reps / merchandisers
Booking and planning promotions and promotional displays
Undertake necessary administrative functions of the role
Ensure sales and GP targets are met / exceeded. Monitor sales and create opportunities to
increase on last year
Control all Costs. Manage credits in a timely and tidy fashion to minimize waste and reduce
loss. Hold suppliers accountable for damaged stock making sure credit notes find their way to
the office
Handle Customer enquiries complaints appropriately and ensure effective interactions with
customers at all times
