Item 4 – Spirituality Strategy : Our Vision for Spiritual and Pastoral Care
- Revd Guy Harrison presented paper; which outlined the Trust’s Spiritual and Pastoral care
team’s vision for spiritual care, its evidence base, views of service users and the 7 priorities to
which the Spiritual & Pastoral Care Department would like to work over the next 3 years.
- Action plan to be developed once strategy approved by the Trust Board
Item 5 – Spiritual Healthcare Data Entry
- Discussion regarding access to write on the RiO system. Proposal briefing document to be
shared with the service user forum to discuss
Item 7 – Suicide Prevention Strategy
- New Suicide Prevention Strategy outlines high priority actions for implementation over a 2 year
period. The strategy places patient safety at the core and promotes the principles of
engagement and openness with service users, carers and staff.

– Refine the data, audit commission and benchmarking club, and ensure we use it
– Standardisation: benchmark against “better” practice elsewhere and see what others are
doing.
