• 37-40 ATHLETES = 10 PER ROTATION
• DO NOT COMBINE LEVEL 1-3 ATHLETES
WITH LEVEL 4+ ATHLETES IN THE SAME
SESSION
• 33-36 = 9 ATHLETES PER ROTATION
• 29-32 = 8 ATHLETES PER ROTATION
• 25-28 = 7 ATHLETES PER ROTATION
• 21-24 = 6 ATHLETES PER ROTATION
OPTION 1 – SHARED FLOOR
• THIS OPTION IS USED WHEN YOU HAVE SPACE FOR 2 SETS OF EQUIPMENT, BUT ONLY ONE FLOOR
• 2 PANELS OF JUDGES
• FLOOR WILL DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF TIME NEEDED FOR EACH ROTATION
• BEST TO NOT EXCEED 32 ATHLETES PER SET OF EQUIPMENT BUT CAN GO TO 40
• FORMAT:
• 8 ATHLETES FROM SIDE A AND 8 ATHLETES FROM SIDE B
• 4 FROM EACH SIDE (8 TOTAL) WARM UP ON THE FLOOR FOR UP TO 1 MINUTE PER ATHLETE (8 MINUTES)
• THE FIRST ATHLETE FROM SIDE A COMPETES, AS SOON AS THEY PRESENT TO THE JUDGES, THE FIRST ATHLETE FROM SIDE
B BEGINS COMPETING WHILE THE JUDGES FROM SIDE A ARE JUDGING THEIR FIRST ATHLETE
• THIS PROCESS CONTINUES UNTIL ALL 8 ATHLETES HAVE COMPETED AND THEN THIS IS REPEATED FOR THE REMAINING 8
ATHLETES.
• TIME IS DETERMINED AS SUCH: 8 MINUTE WARM UP FOR FIRST GROUP, PLUS 8 MINUTE WARM UP FROM THE SECOND
GROUP = 16 MINUTES. USING A LEVEL OF ATHLETE WHO HAS A MAXIMUM FLOOR ROUTINE TIME OF 1 MINUTE
WOULD THEN ADD 16 MINUTES TO THE ROTATION. THEREFORE THE ROTATION WILL BE A MINIMUM OF 32 MINUTES
LONG. HOWEVER, BUFFER TIME MAY BE NEEDED FOR ATHLETES TO WALK ON AND OFF THE FLOOR AS WELL AS
STARTING THE SECOND GROUP OF ATHLETES. 35-40 MINUTES PER ROTATION SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT.
• THE COMPETITION TIME WOULD BE DETERMINED AS SUCH: 40 MINUTES PER ROTATION X 4 ROTATIONS = 160 MINUTES
DIVIDED BY 60 MINUTES = 2.6 HOURS NEEDED FOR THE COMPETITION
OPTION 2 (STANDARD)
• ATHLETES CONTINUE TO ROTATE TO EVENT AS SOON AS THE ROTATION IS COMPLETE
• 1 PANEL OF JUDGES
• COMPETITION TIME IS DETERMINED BY THE WARM UP TIME OF THE LONGEST EVENT FOR THE
HIGHEST LEVEL OF ATHLETES
• ALSO DETERMINED BY THE LARGEST ROTATION
• IDEAL MAX NUMBER IN THE SESSION IS 32 (8 PER EVENT) SO THAT WARM UPS DO NOT HAVE TO BE
SPLIT
• IF THERE ARE 33 ATHLETES IN THE SESSION, YOU MUST USE THE AMOUNT OF 9 ATHLETES IN A ROTATION
TO CALCULATE THE COMPETITION TIME.
• FORMAT: PLEASE SEE SUMMARY CHART IN THE MEET DIRECTORS’ MANUAL FOR BREAKDOWN OF
TIME NEEDED PER ATHLETE FOR EACH LEVEL
• # OF ATHLETES IN LARGEST ROTATION X # OF MINUTES NEEDED PER ATHLETE = TIME PER ROTATION.
• MULTIPLY THIS NUMBER BY 4 ROTATIONS TO GET THE TOTAL COMPETITION TIME
• DIVIDE THAT NUMBER BY 60 (MINUTES) TO DETERMINE HOW MANY HOURS THE COMPETITION TIME

• NEED TO BE AWARE THAT IN BTS THE CLUBS TO START ON EACH EVENT ARE RANDOM, BUT ARE OFTEN IN
ALPHABETICAL ORDER IN THE RANDOM START ORDER WITHIN THE ROTATION
• ALWAYS TRY TO HAVE ONLY ONE LEVEL IN THE ROTATION (PREFERRED ONE LEVEL THROUGHOUT THE SESSION)
