functional improvement.
SUBSTITUTION
Technology acts as a direct tool for
substitution with no real change.
enhancement
Technology allows for
significant task redesign..
Article Review
TSW review a recent article on predator/prey relationship in Louisiana
1. Google a recent article on a predator/prey relationship in Louisiana.
2. In a document worksheet, answer the questions and discuss the impact
of the relationship on the Louisiana environment. In your document,
discuss the consequences of a depletion or over population of either of
the species.
3. Be prepared to discuss.

SUBSTITUTION
Technology acts a direct substitute,
with no functional improvement
This task uses
Internet capable devices
Google Chrome:
Learning Objective(s):
Evaluate the effectiveness of natural
resource management in Louisiana
(SE-HB4) (SE-H-B5)
Determine the effects of limiting factors
on a population and describe the
concept of carrying capacity (SE-HA3)
Explain how species in an ecosystem
interact and link in a complex web
(SE-HA7) (SE-H-A10)
Explain why biodiversity is essential to the
survival of organisms (SE-H-A9)
A
Power Point on Food Chains/Webs in Louisiana
TSW complete a power point on predator/prey relationships in Louisiana
1. Open Power Point in Microsoft Office.
2. Create a power point on the predator/prey relationship you’ve
chosen from the Substitution activity and the consequences of
over population or depletion of each species on the
environment in Louisiana.
3. In Blackboard, go to your teacher’s Blackboard site and upload
the power point to the discussion board, “Food Chains/Webs”
Louisiana.
AUGMENTATION
Technology acts as a direct tool
for substitution with some
functional improvement.
This task uses:
.Computer w/ Microsoft Office
Internet access

Evaluate the effectiveness of natural
resource management in
Louisiana (SE-HB4) (SE-H-B5)
Explain how species in an ecosystem

web (SE-HA7) (SE-H-A10)
M
Predator/Prey Relationship in Louisiana
Create a video on predator/prey relationships in Louisiana
1. Each group will agree on a LA predator and a prey to examine.
2. Each group will create a video on the predator and the prey and their
relationship. In the video, describe the energy transfer and the
consequences to the environment if either of the species should rapidly
decline or increase.
3. Use and video creation device, keeping the video under 2 minutes.
4. Go to your teacher’s Blackboard site and upload the video to the
Discussion Board, Predator/Prey Videos.
MODIFICATION

Will your organisms be regulated? LA wildlife and
fisheries management.
Review the predator/prey relationships in the power points and videos on blackboard
and decide if any LA organisms posted require wildlife management.
1. Go to the predator/prey relationships posted on Blackboard.
2. As a member of the LA wildlife and fisheries department, decide if any of
the LA organisms in the videos require intervention in the population
management.
3. Construct a wildlife management response to the power points/videos
of the most endangered species and post it on blackboard. Be sure to
validate your response.
