VOWEL
• Vowel is a speech sound in which the mouth is
open and the tongue is not touching the top of
the mouth, the teeth, etc.

CONSONANT
• Consonant is a speech sound made by (partly) stopping

DIPHTHONG
• Diphthong is two vowels produced consecutively in
the same syllable by moving the articulators
