1. The following information is important to assist all Diocesan Deputies and their Regional Advanced Winners
to the State Free Throw Competition.
a. New Location: Barbara Bush Middle School, 1500 Evans Road, San Antonio, TX.
b. Provide this ‘STATE TOURNAMENT INFORMATIONAL FLIER’ to the winners showing information schedule
and driving directions to the gymnasium.
c. This State Tournament Information Flyer can also be found in the TX State website www.tkofc.org .
d. If a hotel room is needed for the family the attach flyer will only provide a list of suggested hotels in
the immediate area. Parents are to reserve their own hotel room which the Knights of Columbus
takes no part in making reservations.
2. Each participating Diocesan Deputy must provide a ‘DIOCESE TOURNAMENT PACKAGE’ to the State Chairman
Coordinator Victor Quesnot, containing both score sheets (STAPLE) to a copy Birth Certificate or some other
type ID showing the child’s proof of age.
a. If a score sheet does not have an attached copy of the proof of age, it is the Diocese Deputy
responsibility (not the parents) to see one is provided asap to State FT Chairman but, no later than
8AM on the day of registration.
b. Recommend to the parents to bring a copy of the birth certificate to show the child’s proof of age.
c. Never, give back the child’s score sheet or a copy birth certificate to the parents to have them
carry in to the State Free Throw Event.
3. Due to the fact that some Diocesan Deputies are traveling a long ways to San Antonio please don’t take a
chance of losing the documents; we a require a tournament package showing the Diocese winners by UPS
or Fex-Ex (overnight delivery) to the State Free Throw Coordinator with score sheet and ID staple together.
a. Before mailing the State Chairman Coordinator Victor Quesnot the Dioceses’ score sheets, plan on
making a copy of the tournament packet for yourself and bring that packet with you on that
weekend for back-up.
b. If we do not receive these the tournament packets from you in a timely manner to prepare for the
tournament, you will receive a phone call to PDF scan the score sheet and proof of ID back to Victor.
4. IMPORTANT - Right after the Diocese Tournament, mail your Diocese Tournament Packet Winners with a
tracking number to be received no later than Saturday, February 25, 2017. Please mail these Tournament
Packets on-time so we’ll have time to prepare for the tournament and give the kids and the parents the
kind of event they will remember forever!!

Once again, it’s the Diocesan Deputy’s responsibility to make sure the packets include all of the information
required and to verify that the sponsoring council is current with their (Per Capita Payments) and also verify that
the child’s age is in the right age category before forwarding to ME. If not, you’ll be contacted and if proof cannot
be verified the competitor will not be able to compete. (NO EXCEPTIONS)!
Remember, the age is 9 to 14 years old as of January 1, 2017 for both genders as stated in the (1928) Official Guide
of KofC Free Throw Championship Rules, Regulations and Information Book. Also, please avoid planning your
Diocese event on the last week of February. We will need that week to prepare for the State Event.
