Main Purpose of the Job The First Step Drop in Centre seeks to appoint an Older Peoples Coordinator to run a one year programme supporting older people who have recently become isolated.. The overall purpose of this post is to coordinate the delivery of this project, manage the volunteers and ensure the project runs as outlined in the project plan. The two main aspects of the programme involve setting up, coordinating and running a time banking programme for older people in North Belfast and running the existing First Step Friendship Group. Duties and Key Responsibilities To run the older peoples programme for recently isolated older people. To manage existing volunteers and recruit new volunteers for the project. To oversee the training of the volunteers. To develop and run a Time Banking scheme Ensure safety of all participants and volunteers. Ensure suitable uptake in the service through advertising. Maintain and develop relationships with other older peoples organisations and groups. Complete record sheets on all contact sessions. Represent the older people of the project when necessary. Complete project report forms when necessary. Complete risk assessment forms for activities. Assist in the completion of project monitoring and community research where necessary. To meet regularly with the manager and assist in the development of the older peoples project. Undertake any other tasks deemed necessary for the successful completion of the post.
