Who We Are
Kimberly J. August (Kim)
Age: 43
Weldon A. August, II (Big June)
Age: 42
Our Mother, Sandra Fay Walls August was born and reared in the heart of South Louisiana and it was
there that she learned everything about cooking, entertaining, and hospitality. Her food philosophy
and thoughts on entertaining focused on the notion that through her cooking she was fuelling souls,
one dish at a time. Sadly on January 13, 2012 she lost her battle with lupus, so to ease our grief and to
celebrate her legacy I along with my brother decided to share her homemade recipes with the world
through Homemade Bliss, LLC.
Homemade Bliss, LLC is a privately-held new business with the simple objective of developing new
and unique food and beverages that deliver Nanny Fay’s homemade recipes to the world. The first
product we launched is Nanny Fay’s Homemade Bliss. It is a wonderful, refreshing all natural citrusbased, tropical party punch that is the first and only step for any gathering. It can be enjoyed as a
virgin drink or mixed with the alcoholic beverage of your choice.
We're an inspired sister-brother team that has an unbreakable bond. Weldon’s (June) the CEO and
Kimberly’s (Kim) the COO but don’t be fooled Kim is always the Big Sister. :-) June is a law
enforcement, security, warehousing and logistics professional who is a local DJ. Kimberly is an
energy attorney whose practice areas include external, government, legal, legislative, media, public,
compliance, and regulatory affairs work, but she has a tremendous passion for all things culinary.
Kimberly has worked as an attorney in the energy field since 1994. She was recently advised that she
along with about 175 of her colleagues would be laid off so the part-time effort she’s been putting in
with Homemade Bliss at night and on the weekends is now her full-time gig. When she's not working
1
or exploring some of her other hobbies -- reading, writing, filmmaking and spoken-word performance
-- Kimberly enjoys cooking for friends or visiting family members and now those cooking adventures
will include Nanny Fay’s Homemade Bliss as a go to ingredient.
The decision to devote our efforts to Homemade Bliss is a bittersweet phenomenon. Nanny Fay’s
untimely death made us real that our mother had a legacy to share, and that the legacy could promote
lupus awareness. In light of the response from we retailers we believe timing is right and therefore we
are pursuing this passion without question, guilt or second-guessing.
Who THEY Think We Are
We’re new to the beverage industry but we definitely have Skin in the Game in that we’ve invested
our own money, to develop and launch the product in our Mother’s honor. We’ve also invested loads
of sweat equity in this venture. What we’ve brought to the table so far has generated a buzz that has
buyers, chefs, distributors, grocers, restaurateurs, and regular consumers from Aruba to Yemen
talking about our product and it’s unique flavor profile.
At first blush, our experience as reflected in our resumes does not jump up and scream “Ideal
Beverage Executives!” However, there is a lot about us, which cannot be covered in a resume that will
convince
the
industry
otherwise.
Let
me
explain.
We are so passionate about this venture and the homage it pays to our late Mother that we lost to
lupus on January 13th and the charitable aspect of our product is the visionary catalyst that makes us
exceed anyone’s expectations or lack thereof.
While anyone can get lupus, nine out of ten people who have it are women. And African American
women are three times more likely to get lupus than Caucasian women are. Our Mother was one of
those women. Our Mother's battle with lupus and our commitment to fund the fight against lupus is a
story that should be told, must be told and will be told. Our passion for finding a cure for lupus stems
from the fact Women of color have higher incidence rates of this serious autoimmune disease than
their white counterparts. They also tend to have a more severe and aggressive form of the disease.
So it is only fitting that we have adopted the notion that our loss will not be in vain because Mama’s
Bliss will help minority women conquer this disease. We will continue creating the buzz around our
product because we believe others will share our passion for Mama's Bliss.
Who We Want To Be
We want to be a big player in the multi-billion dollar beverage industry. We want to share Mama’s
Bliss and help find a cure for lupus and offer support to those living with lupus.
Traction: So we worked with the folks at Power Brands USA to covert our Mother's homemade
recipe to a marketable product that we launched at the Annual Americas Food & Beverage Show and
Conference on September 24-25, 2012 in Miami.
At the show buyers, chefs, distributors, grocers, restaurateurs, and regular consumers from Aruba to
Yemen were talking about our product and its unique flavor profile.
We received some great feedback during the show.
Here's what they said:
@AFnB2012: Come get some fresh homemade punch at the "Homemade Bliss" table.

Attendees were so impressed with the flavors of Nanny Fay’s Homemade Bliss that celebrity chef and
restaurateur, Maria Katalina Velez is using the product in the kitchen of her establishment, Mojito
Cuban Cuisine Restaurant in Brooklyn to develop dishes that showcase our product.
Miami chef, Alex Kroytor of ZAN, Inc. is working with his team of fifteen chefs to introduce our
product onto the fleet of private yachts that ZAN caters to in South Florida.
In anticipation of launch we created quite a bit of buzz via our brother/sister gorilla marketing
campaign and we're pleased with the response. Through the gorilla campaign we secured
commitments from retailers to carry the product. Our initial buyers include the following retailers
two South Louisiana Soul Food Restaurants, a South Louisiana Grocer that has served the area since
1941, a South Louisiana Nightclub, an East Atlanta Vietnamese Restaurant, a South-eastern
Cupcakery with stores in Georgia and Florida, and a South-eastern doughnut shop with stores in
Georgia and Thailand.
Given these commitments and the tremendous response from potential buyers and the retailers who
have ordered the product and become our first customers we’re excited about our BLISSFUL
BLESSINGS!!!
In keeping with the momentum we’ve built through this gorilla marketing campaign we are currently
in negotiations to ink a distribution deal with both a Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Spring Water
Manufacturer and a leading developer, owner and operator of hotels and casinos in North America.
We also are in negotiations with one of the largest independent food retailers in the nation to carry our
product in their 300 plus stores.
Product’s Key Features: Nanny Fay's Homemade Bliss is only 110 calories per serving, which is
less than soda and most juice drinks. Our product's low caloric properties are dramatically less than
other bottled juices, sodas or comparable beverages.
We have found that the low-caloric profile of Nanny Fay’s Homemade Bliss makes the drink
attractive to three key audiences – 1) Disenchanted bottled juice drinkers who think the drinks are too
sweet, 2) Bottled water drinkers who long for taste and variety and 3) soda drinkers who are interested
a low-calorie beverage that doesn’t contain artificial sweetener.
The juice can be enjoyed as a virgin drink or mixed with the alcoholic beverage of your choice. We're
offering no giveaways, no gimmicks, just great old-fashioned goodness.

Why Choose Our Product?
As a tribute to our Mother we want to donate a percentage of our sales to help support the Lupus
Foundation of America, to find a cure and to aid those living with lupus. Our commitment to finding a
cure for lupus is reflected in our company logo.
The purple ribbon is the symbol for lupus awareness but we included gold and green to celebrate our
South Louisiana heritage and Mardi Gras.
Everyone knows purple represents Justice, green represents Faith, and gold represents Power. The
colors of Mardi Gras speak to our Mother and who she was at her very core so we designed our logo
accordingly.
So remember there’s a new spin on fizz and it’s coming to your beverage aisle. It's Nanny Fay's
