Sports Ambassadors Programme
INFORMATION PACK
The LSE Sports Ambassador Programme recognises and rewards exceptional sporting talent
and sportsmanship amongst our students. It supports and develops students who are highlevel athletes in any recognised sport to pursue their chosen sporting career and develop sport
leadership skills.
By becoming an LSE Sports Ambassador you will be representing the LSE sporting
community on campus and beyond.
Programme Criteria
For 2015/16, the Programme will include three tiers of Ambassador to represent a wider
variety of high-level sport at LSE. Gold and Silver Ambassadors will typically be representing
a country at international level or be involved in a national development squad / trialling
process. A grant given by the LSE Annual Fund will also help successful applicants with
training, equipment, travel and tournament registration costs.
Bronze Ambassadors will have demonstrated 1st-team success in an AU club, and be
recognised as leaders within LSESU sport. Bronze Ambassadors may receive a small prize
bursary in recognition of their achievements and/or funding to go towards sports leadership
qualifications.
All LSE students are invited to apply, and we particularly encourage applications from AU
members. Factors including sporting achievement, demonstrated sporting potential,
sportsmanship and leadership, international performance, and contribution to community and
LSE sport will be taken into account.
All Ambassadors will be expected to participate in skills development workshops, and
contribute to at least one Sports Ambassadors Event on campus each year.
