SASA Programs
FAQ
How do I register my child?
For which program should I register my
child?
Mini Kickers (U5) : Mini Kickers is an excellent introduction to soccer and provides a curricular framework
focusing on basic motor skills and cognitive development
of the child. The program is delivered through a series of
fun games and activities and scrimmages lead by professional trainers and volunteer assistants.
Recreational Soccer (U6-U17): The Recreational
Soccer program provides a stress-free, enjoyable environment where the focus is on having fun combined with
skill learning. This is an inclusive program; there is no
selection process (tryouts), and all players are treated
equally regardless of ability or interest level. Teams are
coached by volunteers, and SASA provides in-house
coaches clinics and age appropriate curriculums to assist
coaches in the delivery of their practice sessions and
games.
Travel Soccer (U8-U19): The Saline Swarm (girls) and
Sting (boys) Travel Soccer program provides a great
opportunity for players with a competitive edge to test
their skills against other clubs in the southeastern
Michigan Area. The U8 program is skill focused with an
emphasis on ball mastery and guided discovery learning.
We have programs for different levels of competition,
interest and commitment available.
Tryouts are held in mid-June for the following fall and
spring seasons. Online registration for travel tryouts begins in May. Registration at the field is also available the
day of the tryouts. Interested players should visit
www.salinesoccer.org and download program information.
You can register your child for soccer by visiting
www.salinesoccer.org. It is easiest and least expensive to register online. It also reduces the amount of
work for SASA volunteers. If you prefer, you may
download a registration form at www.salinesoccer.org.

What equipment do I need for Recreational
soccer?
SASA provides jerseys for all Recreational League players and a t-shirt for Mini Kickers. Players are also required to wear shin guards and
soccer socks that completely
cover the shin guards. Soccer
shoes (no baseball cleats) are
recommended but not required.
Each child should also have his/her own soccer ball. #3
size ball is used for ages under 8 (U6 and U8 Divisions),
#4 for ages 8 - 12 (U10 and U12 Divisions), and a #5
for ages 13 and up (Open Leagues).

SASA also offers a variety of optional Developmental Programs
geared towards a wide range of ability and interest levels. It is
our goal in SASA to keep the cost affordable for our players so
that the programs are accessible to everyone. We believe that
for a player to develop skills they must be frequently exposed
to quality training. SASA offers developmental training year
