The Geelong Club is a heritage-listed
building built in 1859. We are situated in
the CBD, a block back from Corio Bay
and only one hour from Melbourne.
We have a wedding package perfect for you.
We look forward to making your special occasion
a momentous and memorable event.
This beautiful, grand old building is full of charm, with the warmth and style of a by-gone
era. We have a Victorian balcony overlooking the bay and an English garden hidden from
the street, full of old-fashioned blooms, walls of ivy and rustic furniture.
There are plenty of stunning photo opportunities. On entering from the street, the floor to
ceiling stained glass doors open into the Restaurant and a grand staircase winds up to the
second floor. The Members Bar, Dining Hall and the impressive Billiards Room comprise
the ground level of the Club. Upstairs, the original Stewards quarters have been transformed
into a Library/Poker Room. The Committee Room and the Upstairs Dining Room both open
onto the opulent balcony.
The Geelong Club has a space for every occasion, whether it’s warming by the open fire in
winter or a relaxing on a beautiful summers day in the garden.

Tentative Bookings
Held for 14 days. Payment Schedule A deposit of $2000
is due within 21 days of the booking. The balance is
required, along with final numbers 21 days prior to the
function.
Cancellations
All cancellations must be notified in writing. If a
cancellation occurs, the following terms will apply. If the
date is not rebooked for another function, then the total
deposit will be forfeited.
Public Holidays
An increased Charge of 10% will apply for functions
booked on public holidays.
Security
The Geelong Club may determine an event requires
security to ensure safety of patrons. Minimum charge is
5 hours at $55 per hour per security guard.
Final Numbers
We require final numbers 21 days prior to function. Late
notice of Increases in numbers will be accommodated
where possible, but not guaranteed.
Extending Hours
Extension of the hours originally booked must be by
mutual agreement with the event coordinator and
cannot breach license conditions. This time will be
charged at $200 per hour.
Allergy Statement
The Geelong Club recommends guest invitations to be
printed with’ food allergy and dietary requirements to be
advised with RSVP. Management cannot guarantee that
there aren’t traces of allergy items in the food. Menu &
Beverage Selection Must be confirmed 21 days prior to
function.
Menu Change
Description and prices of menu items and wines are
indicative only and will change seasonally or due to
availability. Function prices may vary marginally if an
event is booked for a date 12 months after the initial
deposit payment.
Responsibility
The designated contact person is financially responsible
for any damages or breakages sustained to the venue.
The Geelong Club accepts no responsibility for any
items lost or damaged prior to, during or after the event.
Cleaning General
cleaning is included in the cost of the event. Charges
will be incurred for any additional cleaning required
(e.g., confetti, damage to carpet and walls, etc.)
Decorations
Decorations in the form of balloons, candles & posters
are available by arrangement. Confetti and metallic
scatters are not permitted in the Geelong Club premises
- a cleaning fee will be charged if this request is ignored.
No displays or signage are to be nailed, screwed or
adhered to any part of the building.
Cakes
Celebratory cakes may be brought into the club and
cutting/serving of your cake maybe included in the
package (see package details).
Removal of Food
No food is allowed to be removed from the premises
following an event. Celebratory cake is the only
exception to this rule.
Behaviour & Noise
The Geelong Club has a code of conduct that requires
all patrons to behave respectfully. The club will control
the sound levels during an event according to license
requirements.
Smoking
In line with anti-smoking legislation, smoking is not
permitted anywhere indoor at The Geelong Club.
Smoking will be permitted in a designated area.
Compliance
The Geelong Club will uphold their licensing
requirements. This means that a person may be refused
service or may be removed from the event regardless of
their association with the event. We reserve the right
to cancel an event should the event or guest be deemed
unsafe or unruly.
Minors
Minors must leave the premises by 9pm unless prior
approval is granted by The Geelong Club. Under no
circumstances will the minor be permitted to consume
alcohol.
Additional supplier meals
Meals for entertainers, photographers and videographers
are available upon request @ $30 per head.

Please advise your event coordinator of any requirements
you may have and we can quote or advise the best way
to manage your event.
