TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR IN TRAINING II (WATER)
The Springfield (MA.) Water and Sewer Commission seeks a Drinking Water Treatment Plant
Operator in training II who possesses a Grade III (OIT) Treatment Drinking Water Operator’s
License issued by the Massachusetts Board of Certification of Operators of Water Treatment
Facilities and have between two (2) and five (5) years’ experience in a related position and
environment with knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices of drinking water treatment.
This position involves responsibility for operating specialized systems, machinery and equipment in
the treatment of water. The individual must possess a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license
and have fundamental computer skills enabling access to plant operation programs. This individual
may be required to work various shifts including weekends and holidays. The current pay scale is
$24.15 per hour.
The Commission offers a competitive starting wage and benefits package. The finalist will undergo
an employment reference check, criminal background check and a physical examination, including
drug and alcohol testing.
