Two Choices for Superior Pest Control

Which Demand is right for you?
When mixed in water, the formulations of Demand CS
and EZ insecticides with iCAP technology are identical.
Both combine the same advanced-generation pyrethroid
power of lambda-cyhalothrin with the performanceboosting microcapsules of iCAP technology. Both Demand
formulations deliver the same concentrations of lambda
cyhalothrin in the mixed solution, and the same 10,000
microcaps per square inch on a treated surface. Where the
products differ is in the concentration in the bottle —
2.5 percent for Demand EZ compared to 9.7 percent
for CS. While some PMPs prefer to use concentrated
products that require more precise measuring of product
per tank (Demand CS), other PMPs benefit from the easier
measurement of less concentrated product (Demand EZ).

Non-Staining
Demand has been shown not to stain surfaces that are
not stained by water alone. As with any product applied
with water to a surface for the first time, it is wise to test
for staining on a small out-of-the-way area prior to the full
treatment.
Mixing Benefits
The iCAP capsule suspension formulation of Demand
not only makes the product more effective, but also more
convenient to apply.
n Water-based, suspension concentrate reduces odor
n Stays mixed, minimizes settling out
n Does not clog equipment or enhance nozzle wear
Tank Mixes
Demand is compatible with nearly all labeled insecticides,
synergists and additives. When tank mixing Demand with
another product, always add Demand last.
Why choose Demand EZ?
Demand EZ was designed to make pouring the correct
amount of insecticide simple for PMPs. The less
concentrated formula lessens the financial impact of
measuring errors on your bottom line, making Demand EZ
ideal for larger pest control companies that perform a high
volume of general pest services. It’s also a great option for
operations with newer, less-experienced technicians whose
measurements may not always be as precise as those of a
seasoned professional.
Two Choices for
Superior Pest Control
Demand® CS and Demand EZ insecticides combine an advanced-generation pyrethroid with a unique
capsule suspension formulation for outstanding protection against numerous insect pests.
Demand is versatile and convenient. It can be used outdoors for spot and banded applications to
provide superior perimeter protection against target pests. Indoors, Demand can be used as a spot or
crack and crevice treatment for both clean-out and maintenance.
When a company chooses Demand, they receive technology that blankets the treated area with at least
10,000 microcapsules per square inch. The microcapsules remain on the surface — rather than being
absorbed into it — so they are readily available for contact with insects for weeks and months.
Advanced iCAP technology for advanced control
Years of research and development went into creating iCAP technology, the proprietary formulation that
makes Demand CS and Demand EZ insecticides different from other pyrethroids on the market.
What makes an iCAP different?
iCAP technology combines two features for control — protection from breakdown and extended
release. Dual-wall construction forms cross-links around the active ingredient for capsule strength.
In the two-step process:
1. The active ingredient is encapsulated in a
spongy polymer shell.
2. A smooth outer shell is applied to further protect
the active ingredient from environmental effects.

Long-lasting protection
against a long list of pests
Demand CS and EZ insecticides with iCAP technology are
labeled for the control of more than 30 pests, including
ants, mosquitos, flies, fleas, ticks, spiders, cockroaches,
scorpions, bed bugs and wasps. With the broad range of
target pests and use sites, Demand is the smart choice for
indoor and outdoor spot treatments and perimeter control.
The same active doesn’t mean the same control
Kill bed bugs faster
Mosquitoes
Syngenta invests heavily in the development of products that deliver reliable, effective pest control. While other suppliers
may use some of the same active ingredients, the final products and their results are not the same.
Studies have demonstrated that Demand CS is significantly
faster acting on bed bugs than other treatments,
demonstrating lethal mortality within 20 minutes.
Demand provides effective control of a wide range of adult
mosquitoes, including:
Every ingredient counts—
The final formulation determines performance

The common denominator in generic and branded
products is the active ingredient (AI), and customers often
make buying decisions based on that active. While the AI
provides the basis of biological activity needed to control a
particular pest, it is the final formulation that determines the
performance of the product. Formulation technology is an art
as well as a science. Other lambda cyhalothrin formulations
are unique both in terms of the inert ingredients they contain
and how those ingredients have been formulated to create
the final product. The process by which the Demand
formulation is made and the structure of the microcap make
this long-lasting formulation uniquely suited for use by PMPs.
Other formulations may release the AI all at once, subjecting
the active ingredient to breakdown by environmental factors.
As a result, those formulations only provide a short period of
residual/pest protection.
Not all capsules perform under pressure
When used in the field, microencapsulated formulations
face heat, ultraviolet light and other environmental pressures
that tend to cause breakdown of the active ingredient. Not
all microcap technology can withstand exposure to the
elements. While generic microcaps break down after 30
days of sun exposure, iCAP technology shields the active
ingredient from UV rays and pH extremes and still controls
pests up to 90 days after treatment.
When the Demand formulation is compared to generic
lambda cyhalothrin products, the superiority of the iCAP
technology capsule is clear.
The difference is on the label
When PMPs compare various products containing
lambda-cyhalothrin, the difference is often visible right
on the product labels.

Demand is engineered so that once applied to surfaces
where mosquitoes rest (in shaded and humid areas), the
microcapsules are easily picked up by adult mosquitoes,
providing quick knockdown as well as extended residual.
It takes only a single Demand microcap to kill a mosquito
adult, so the 10,000 microcaps per square inch applied to a
mosquito resting surface results in a significant reduction in
adult mosquito populations.

Residual control of occasional invaders,
including stinkbugs
The powerful microcap in iCAP technology maintains its
efficacy on multiple surfaces, which is particularly important
when treating the textured surfaces that attract occasional
invader pests such as stink bugs1 (including Brown
Marmorated stink bug and Kudzu or Globular stink bug),
boxelder bugs and multicolored Asian lady beetles.
1 Syngenta supports a FIFRA Section 2(ee) recommendation for the use of Demand CS to control Brown
Marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) and Kudzu (or Globular) stink bug (Megacopta cribraria) on
outdoor surfaces.
