an urban forestry program of Tucson Clean
and Beautiful.

THE BENEFITS OF TREES ARE MANY. Trees
provide shade and help cool the air. Shading
reduces the radiant energy absorbed and stored
by surfaces, including walls, pavement and
landscape gravel. In addition to energy savings,
trees help the community by:
• Providing habitat for wildlife
• Improving air quality
• Reducing carbon dioxide, a
greenhouse gas
• Controlling storm water
runoff, soil erosion and wind
Discounted trees are also available to schools,
community groups and neighborhood associations.
