Steps on How to Install Signature and MICR Fonts on XMLP Checks Introduction The XML Publisher option for AP Pay Cycle Checks is delivered for Release 9.1 customers who are up to FMS Financials 9.1 Bundle #4. Customers can pick either Crystal Check or XMLP or both for AP check printing. As we have check reports (CHECK1,2 and 3.rpt) for Crystal, development has provided .rtf templates for XMLP. Setup Please download the Designer Helper as it will help you to insert available fields on the check template Download Sample MICR font from http://sandeen.net/GnuMICR/ Install the Font under C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\fonts (Where ever you have installed BI publisher) Also, Install the Fonts under your Fonts folder (C:\Windows\Fonts) and also on Unix, copy them to $PS_HOME/jre/lib/fonts. We should do the same for Batch Server, Appserver and Web Server. Include these Fonts under xdo.cfg file C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\config\xdo.cfg. (Where ever you have installed BI publisher) Installing the Fonts on the RTF template Access the APY2021X1 report and click on Sample Data. Save this XML file to your local machine. Click on Default Template file APY2021X1.rtf This will open the Check RTF template in a Word document. Click on Add-Ins and then load the XML data which you have saved on your local machine. Add-Ins will be only available if you install Designer Helper. Now Click on Insert and select field This window pops up with all the available fields. Drag the MICR_Line and drop it onto the Check Highlight the MICR field and select the Font and Font size Using an RTF template, insert the Signature on the Check Now, the MICR and Signature fonts are installed on the RTF template. Now, click on Properties Add Micr and Signature Fonts as shown: Name: xdo-font.GnuMICR.normal.normal (Micr) Name: xdo-font.ESIGS__.normal.normal (Signature) Value: truetype.C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\GnuMICR.ttf (Micr) Value: truetype.C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\ESIGS__.ttf (Signature) Upload the new RTf template to the APY2021 Report Definition Change the Default Output Format Type to RTF (very important) Now Preview the Check. Signature and MICR appears on the preview. In order to enable these fonts on the Application Server and Process Scheduler, please include these fonts under the xdo.cfg file. The xdo.cfg file can be located under PS_HOME\Appserv (Application Server) Add the xdo.cfg file path under the psprcs.cfg and psappsrv.cfg and files psprcs.cfg file psappsrv.cfg Note: The only drawback with XMLP checks compared to Crystal Checks is that any secure printer fonts will not work with XMLP. The BI Publisher engine doesn’t convert the secure fonts when the PDF output is generated. These fonts are converted as an embedded image causing the printer not to recognize these fonts. Bug 12712814 - XMLP CHECKS WITH FORMAT .HTM OR .RTF PRODUCES INVALID CHECK WHEN SENT TO PRINTER, is a Tools bug that addresses the issue related to XMLP checks using secure fonts.
