IHS Chemical Cost Curve Service

IHS Chemical Cost Curve Service
Cost Curve Service— Competitive Cost Evaluation
The IHS Chemical Cost Curve Service leverages in-depth, independent technical
and economic evaluations of commercial technologies for the chemical, polymer, refining,
and biotech industries with a comprehensive view on chemical production capacity from
IHS Chemical experts. Combining this with price and cost forecasts from IHS leaders
in industry, economic and financial analysis generates the most comprehensive set
of cost curves available for the chemical industry.
IHS Chemical Cost Curve Service provides the supply curve for all producers
of a particular commodity chemical or polymer, for the current year, next year,
as well as a five-year outlook. The service includes a mid-year update of these curves,
delivered in the first calendar quarter of the year. A historical cost curve is also included
to provide a perspective for comparison and analysis of industry trends. Every cost curve
is based on a detailed analysis of each individual production facility throughout the world,
revealing which locations and processes are the most cost competitive. For highly-traded
chemical products, delivered cost curves are presented to illustrate how local production
costs compare with imports from other producing regions.
