Distribution Partnerships Manager Statement of Duties The job Building and sustaining strategic relationships with key travel agent networks, wholesaler, access and digital distributor partners to grow demand, and increase travel sales and yield from interstate visitors to Tasmania. Duties Provide authoritative guidance and market intelligence to partners and lead the development of mutually beneficial brand-aligned marketing activities that reinforce Tasmania’s positioning, and increase conversion and yield from interstate visitors. Scope, coordinate and deliver relevant educational and engagement programs to increase sellers’ understanding and appreciation of Tasmanian products. Manage major projects and budgets, incorporating project management methodology and logistics management. Monitor, review, analyse and interpret the performance and results of marketing activities with a view to continual learning and improvement. Work collaboratively with Tourism Tasmania’s channel and content teams to ensure all project requirements are implemented and delivered within scope. Direction/Supervision received The Distribution Partnerships Manager reports to the Executive Manager, Strategic Partnerships who provides direction to achieve the required outcomes and objectives. However they are expected to be self-managing in day to day operations, exercise judgement to analyse complex issues, demonstrate initiative in performing the duties, and seek guidance as required. Level of responsibility The Distribution Partnerships Manager will be responsible for proactive strategic planning and delivery of small to large scale projects within the Tourism Tasmania Strategic Partnerships team. As a member of a team, they are required to consult widely within the business unit, with agency staff, the tourism industry, and staff of other relevant agencies. They will be required to display flexibility, creativity and initiative in developing proposals and recommendations for consideration by management and will be responsible for the validity of such proposals. They are also responsible for managing a small team to deliver on key projects, and to support their continual skill development. What you need to have Proven ability to establish and maintain strong partner relationships and to achieve outcomes that support both organisational and partner objectives and strategies. Proven experience and knowledge of the travel and tourism industry and demonstrated understanding of contemporary marketing principles, strategies and changing travel distribution channels. Demonstrated ability to research and analyse statistical and qualitative data and draw strategic and operational conclusions. Demonstrated project and budget management skills, management and organisational skills to enable the coordination and management of a variety of tasks at the same time and the planning and accurate completion of tasks within pre-determined time frames. Sound liaison, negotiation and consultation skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels of the tourism industry and to work effectively as a member of a team and provide advice and guidance to others. High level written communication skills. A commitment to working in a values-based organisation and contributing to the development of an inspiring enterprise. Desirable requirements: Commercial experience working with tourism industry and a relevant tertiary qualification or proven experience and achievement in a similar senior role.
