And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, - Revelation 1:17 3 And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.” - Isaiah 6:3 “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.” - Revelation 4:8b 16 because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” - I Peter 1:16 God’s “holiness” has a distinct feature 1. Separation To be holy…you have to be where God is! - Go to His Word God to our knees God to His worship Go to His service Go to Battle Go preach the Word God’s “holiness” has a distinct feature 2. Absolute Purity “Light of Israel” Is. 10:17 “I am the Light of the world.” Jn. 8:12 “…unapproachable light” I Tim. 6:16 “children of light” Eph. 5:8 8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. - Mt. 5:8 Purity Requires: • No excuses for sin • At war with sin Fear is a sign that one knows that God is there, but does not know the God who is there. Baptism… the first step on the journey in the Light.
