Emblem
The Emblem of Bikali College contains a wealth
of meaning. On it is inscribed the name of the
college and its logo which is symbolized by a
blooming lotus that signifies flourishing of
knowledge and wisdom in a rural backward area.

Preface
Education is an instrument for ones personality development. It is also a source of
social transformation. A college, as a center of higher learning can be regarded as
social workshop to continue a process of students’ all round development and social
advancement. Students can acquire knowledge of human values and ethics, and gather
experiences for life skill through the process of teaching, learning and evaluation
exercised by a college. However, sustenance of quality education in a college needs
assessment of all the exercises that are performed by it for further enhancement of
quality assurance. For bringing positive outcomes and overcoming weaknesses, the
college education system must possess required infrastructure, improved teaching
learning techniques, effective curriculum, efficient administrative system, proper
students’ supports, extension activities, value education agenda, extra and cocurricular activities, research and consultancy services and an improved evaluation
system.
Bikali College has been striving to realize positive outcomes and treading the
progressive path in imparting higher education in a rural based tribal area since its
inception in 1982. It has been dedicated to serve the students in particular and the
society in general with required facilities. After the 2 nd cycle of accreditation by
NAAC, the College has further augmented its efforts for its all round development. In
pursuance to the sustained growth and advancement experienced in the recent past
years, the institution has prepared a Re-accreditation Report (RAR) highlighting the
pros and cons of academic sessions 2009-10 to 2013-14 for validation by the NAAC.
The 3rd cycle of NAAC Re-accreditation is supposed to reaffirm the effectiveness and
competence of the college in sustaining quality education and this would motivate the
stakeholders for further dedication.

Acknowledgement

The college education rendered by Bikali College as an institution under the Higher
Education System (HES) has a resemblance to an organic living body like a human
being. Its qualitative existence depends on a number of interdependent organs such as
the Government, the UGC, the curriculum, the affiliating University, the Governing
Body, the administrator, the faculties, the office staff, librarian and library staff,
constituent bodies, parents, students and the surrounding communities. All the organs
have specific role for fruitful functioning of college education. Assimilating all the
roles performed by various parts of the college in a report form is not an easy task.
However, it has become possible to bring it out as a report only with the active
participation and support of all the stakeholders and I am thankful to each and every
one of them.
I am profoundly thankful to the Principal of the institution whose constant support,
guidance and help in all respects has made the realization of the report a success.
Mention must be made of the joint co ordinators, Dr. M.G. Singha and Dr. Abdul
Haque Ahmed for extending their help, co-operation and suggestions in preparing the
RAR. Constituent bodies, the teaching and non-teaching staff, student bodies,
members of IQAC and various related agencies are acknowledged for rendering their
help in times of need in the process of preparation of the report.
