Volunteer Job Descriptions:
Registration/Check-In: Help check in kids as they arrive. Kids who have already registered for a color
group will check in where their color is and receive a bracelet. Kids who have not signed up yet, will pick
their color and then go to that color group and have a bracelet.
Rotation Leaders: At Glow Party this year, we have four different rotations. Three of the rotations are
games that will need people to lead and facilitate that game and make sure students are not leaving that
rotation when they are not supposed to. We will have a detailed description of the rules of each
game. Here is a basic description of the three games:
1. Jurassic Packman- Students will be separated into two teams. Each team will try and
retrieve all of their team color’s dinosaur eggs that are scattered throughout the room
and place them in their team’s nest. In order to retrieve an egg, each student must stay
on lines that are taped to the floor and not run. They can only retrieve one egg at a time
and must be careful not to get caught by mama T-Rex. If a student is caught running,
going off of a line, carrying multiple eggs, or caught by a T-Rex, they will be sent to take
a seat along the wall until the end of the game. Whichever team as the most their
colored eggs in their nest wins. If other the other teams eggs are found in a team’s nest,
points will be given to the other team.
2. Globi Wan Kanobi- It’s a classic case of the empire vs. rebels! Darth Vader has sent out
his empire fleet to capture those rebels who are trying to smuggle glow beads. If the
rebels get caught, they will be sent to Darth Vader himself!
3. Mine Craft Dodgeball- Students will be separated into four teams. Each team will have a
few minutes at the beginning of each game to use the boxes provided in their area to
build a structure they must protect. After that time ends, they must try and defend their
structure while trying to knock over the structure of the other teams or get the other
team’s members out by hitting them. The team that has a structure standing and the
most people still in the game last will be the winner.
Our fourth rotation is snack time in Warehouse 45. During this time we will be serving ice cream
sandwiches and promoting Warehouse 45.
Color Group Leaders: There are four different colors students can sign-up for, which are green, purple,
yellow, and orange. As a color group leader, you will stay with your color the entire time and your job
will be to encourage students throughout the night, help students understand the rules at each rotation,
and herd students from rotation to rotation.
Security: Throughout the entire night, it will be vital that our preteens are where they are supposed to
be and nowhere else so that we can keep everyone as safe as possible. In order to make this possible,
we will need volunteers to make sure preteens are not venturing down halls while rotating, that
everyone makes it down to their next rotation, and that students are escorted for restroom breaks.
Wherever Needed: Sign up for this if you are okay with being placed wherever!
