Role Description Title Domestic Abuse Service Manager Hours 37.5 hours per week Salary NJC PO1-2 £27,849-£31,754 Responsible to Chief Executive Officer Contact with Staff, Service Users, Volunteers, Partner Agencies, Stakeholders, Trustees Responsible for Independent Domestic Violence Advocates x 9 FTE Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advocate x 1 Family Intervention Worker x 1 Senior Complex Domestic Abuse Caseworker x 1 Complex Domestic Abuse Caseworker x 2 • To take leadership responsibility for all operational and strategic management of The Blue Door Domestic Abuse Service. • To passionately lead, drive and co-ordinate a high-quality frontline service which empowers and supports victims of domestic abuse. • To initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links, keeping safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse. • To implement and support the development of the strategic direction of the service and take a lead role in the local domestic abuse strategic partnerships. • To manage the development and successful implementation of innovative services and service expansion, whilst ensuring existing services are sustained and contract compliant. Objectives Case load None Key Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Drive the strategic direction of The Blue Door Domestic Abuse Service: • Use knowledge of the sector at local and national level to influence the future provision of services, ensuring that the experiences of service users are central. • Maintain up to date knowledge of the barriers to engagement and recovery for all victims of domestic abuse and identify new ways of working to ensure victims continue to receive a high level of support with realistic, achievable and sustainable aims and options. • Maintain up to date knowledge of the needs and support provisions to victims in the local area. • Work closely with commissioners to deliver high quality services in a strategic and monitored way. 2. Create and maintain key partnerships with partner agencies, service providers and stakeholders: • Develop and sustain effective working relationships with all of the above, ensuring the IDVA roles are central to multi-agency work and the response to domestic abuse, developing protocol and referral procedures as appropriate. • Ensure the involvement of the service in the MARAC, information sharing and risk management framework for high risk victims. Use multiple and effective methods of communication to keep stakeholders informed of the services and outcomes. Represent the service at multi-agency operational and relevant –level strategic meetings, feeding back initiatives and outcomes as appropriate. Regularly present on the work of the service to a wide range of audiences. Attend and positively represent the service at Forums and Networking events as relevant to the role and management of the service. To act as the lead for Service User involvement within this area of business. To deliver training to a wide range of internal and external partners Develop annual Public Relations campaigns in line with the strategic plan. Support the delivery of training and development opportunities for partner agencies. 3. Ensure a consistently high quality service is provided to all users of the service: • Support Senior Practitioners in their role of supervisor and mentor. • Provide regular and effective case reviews and supervision to all practitioners to address individual development and support needs. • Conduct appropriate reviews of the service in relation to input, output and outcome monitoring, and the views of the stakeholders and service users, ensuring timely and effective remedial actions are implemented as appropriate. • Utilise the information gained above to inform the setting and monitoring of targets, objectives (and both individual and team level), and the ongoing development of services and responses, both internal and external. • Ensure the service recognises the needs and concerns of a wide range of survivors, and addresses them appropriately by working pro-actively to ensure a non-discriminatory service is accessible to all eligible clients. • Ensure a high level of data quality is achieved through effective use of the MODUS system. • To ensure compliance with the SaveLives Leading Lights Quality Assurance Framework • Produce reports for stakeholders and internally as required. 4. Provide leadership and line management to the frontline staff and volunteers: • Ensure that staff are recruited, managed, appraised and developed and that effective arrangements are made for the training and development of staff so as to meet service needs and to provide equality of opportunity for all staff. • Create an environment of trust, recognition and encouragement, where staff can thrive and develop. 5. Manage and gatekeep referral processes into the services: • Ensure the timely processing of referrals in line with contractual requirements. • Ensure accurate and timely communication with referral agencies in relation to referral status. 6. Together with other members of the senior management team, take joint responsibility for the management of the Blue Door: • Contribute effectively to the overall management of The Blue Door, adopting lead areas of responsibility as required by the organisation. • Management feedback and complaints as required. • Complete staff grievances, disciplinaries and investigations as required. • Ensure effective teamwork is maintained at all times. 2 Grimsby and Scunthorpe Rape Crisis Limited and The Blue Door Registered Company Number 4459867 Registered Charity Number 1099502 • • • • To monitor expenditure in –line with set budgets At all times, to be conversant with, work within and actively promote the Policies and Procedures of The Blue Door Act professionally and as a positive representative of The Blue Door at all times, embracing the values of the organisation.
