Thank you
for supporting the 2016
Black Tie Bingo
Each year Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation (SCHF) through the Black
Tie Bingo committee strives to host an amazing evening of glitz, glamour and
bingo fun. The feedback from patrons was amazing: fun was had by all and,
even better, our biggest profit to date – $228,000!
Each of the bingo committee members went the extra mile to make Black
Tie Bingo an event that raised a tremendous amount of money to help further
the cause of Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation and its stakeholders.
Our thanks go to the Wyant Group for their continued and amazing support
of this event. They’ve been title sponsor since day one and can always be
counted on to go the extra mile.
Many thanks also to PotashCorp, who stepped up this year to sponsor our
reception and continue to be one of our community’s brightest stars.
To all other sponsors, those who donated prizes, bought tickets, volunteered
or helped in any way, we say a heartfelt thank you! Thanks also to each
our bingo committee members, and Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation’s
volunteer board of directors and staff who went above and beyond to help
make the event a huge success in so many ways.
We look forward to an even bigger and better bingo in 2017 – mark your
calendars for March 18. If you want to stay in touch with Black Tie Bingo,
just look for the page on Facebook and click like. See you next year!

Foundation CEO Message
Wow! Another Black Tie Bingo was another rousing success. The event was sold out
once again and was just one fun, fun evening. Thanks to Bart Hunter and the organizing
committee for all of your hard work. Raising more than $228,000 is a win for all.
For those who attended or sponsored the Black Tie Bingo, thank you for supporting
Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation. I’m pleased to say that the Bingo supported the MS
Clinical Research Chair. Over the years, thanks to events like Black Tie Bingo, we’ve
been able to raise $5 million to support the creation of this vital position.
Bingo proceeds also went to the Foundation’s Equip for Excellence campaign. Equip
for Excellence is a multi-million dollar campaign to improve every area of the hospital.
As a bingo supporter, you’re helping purchase equipment, resources and technology.
You’re helping patients see better, walk better and live better.
If you had fun at the bingo, be sure to check out other Foundation events like Golfun
(May 19) Ouzopalooza (June 10), and the Festival of Trees Fire & Ice Gala (November
21). For more information or to donate online, visit SaskatoonCityHospitalFoundation.

Bingo raises $228,000 for Foundation
The only free spaces to be found
were on the Bingo cards. That’s
because another sold-out crowd
–almost 500 people – packed the
Sheraton Cavalier for the 2016
Black Tie Bingo. Excitement
overflowed with some great bingo
prizes, live auction items and a
seemingly unending host of silent
auction ware. In the end, it all came
together to create one impressive
number – $228,000!
As they have before, proceeds
will be used to provide hope
for people with MS. Funds
benefit the creation of an MS
Clinical Research Chair in
Saskatchewan. The Chair will
inspire and coordinate research
across the province into causes
and treatments for MS with the
ultimate goal of finding a cure.
The Foundation is excited to
hint that there will be some very
good news about this campaign
in the near future. Funds also
support the Foundation’s Equip
for Excellence campaign. Equip
for Excellence is a multi-million
dollar campaign to improve every
area of the hospital. By ensuring
staff have the best equipment,
technology and resources, you’ve
helped a grandfather read to his
granddaughter for the first time.
You’ve helped a man return to
work after a bilateral stroke. And
you’ve helped an active women
resume her life after knee surgery.
You’ve helped people see better,
walk better and live better.
If you’d like to know more about
Equip for Excellence and some
current needs, visit SCHFequip.
